in what world is Arieth's death only the 10th most emotional moment in the FF series? its certainly more emotional than any of the other moments here and most of those moments weren't that sad either... poor show Gamespot
well it really was only a matter of time once Sony made their announcement... it would have been better if MS had actually used words to the effect of we were wrong which would have at least helped people to respect them more but good news is good news :)
@Wazuli @LeFeverBeaver I agree entirely... I like you have been a loyal fan for years and want to be a fan of the XB1 as well. I don't tend to buy used games or trade in old ones and my 360 is connected tot internet all the time already so this is likely to have a minimal impact on me but that's been my choice and should continue to be... there is no good reason for regular internet check on a console and this above all cannot be justified. I can see a certain argument for used games but that falls down as well when you consider that game developers could simply make better games and stop releasing dross instead of punishing loyal gamers like you and me for disaster releases that they really could have seen coming a mile away.
At this stage the question is just how long it will take Microsoft to take the road to u-turns ville and follow Sony... I'm an avid Xbox fan and haven't ever really warmed to the PlayStation but even I can see just how damaging this will be to Microsoft if they don't back down... I myself will be delaying buying the new console until next Christmas at the earliest right now.
I think ultimately they will either back down before release if they have any sense whatsoever but, if they do stick to their guns, poor sales will eventually force them to change... this isn't a question of if, its a question of when... for the sake of Xbox fans all over I really hope that they do it sooner rather than later.
@ cliffhicks the people so in love with second hand fail to see that producers will be forced to use much more restrictive methods when selling - steam is a good example of this... at present, if i buy a 360 game, both me and my partner play the game and get enjoyment out of it... but with steam, the game can only be played from the original account... This technology is around now and it would be very easy for all producers to implement it and stop selling physical product very quickly but they would seem to realise that gamers dont actually want this... if we keep drying up their revenue stream we may force their hand!
what a short sighted set of views! regardless of what you think about the game producers or their business models, their aim is to make money in large amounts and, if they dont do that, they will stop making games! Now, Bioware, Bungie, Lion Head, etc are unlikley to be going anywhere soon but even well known companies such as take2 for example dont always make as much money as you would think. I know the counter argument is that they should make better games but the subjective nature of that argument makes it moot. The other side of things is the reseller itself... why should they make such large amounts of profit for no work... their entire role is to buy games from gamers at very low prices and selling them to other gamers at prices usually only just below the price of the new game. I personally just wait until the game comes down in price before i buy it because id rather the money went to the people who laboured over the game (in some cases for many years) than to a game shop that doesnt even see fit to pay the gamers a decent price or to sell the games at an actually low price. second hand may not be the devil but the best way for us all to help the industry that gives us so much is to be balanced and make the ffort to buy games from new... at very least some of the time :D
i really am sick of listening to people going on about which console is better!!! As an xbox fan i obviously prefer that platform but id be very stupid to deny that the PS3 is a better system... its hardware SHOULD be able to wipe the floor with the xbox.... it should be able to tie the xbox and the wii together and wipe the floor with them both.... but its not! there is obviously an element of user opinion in this kind of thing but if your being objective you can see that the xbox seems to still have the edge on the PS3 in some of those images.... that shouldn’t be seen as some sort weapon for xbox fans to use against the PS fans.... the reality is that the PS3 is more difficult to program for and most developers tend to port the xbox version and touch them up, thus not using the PS3’s hardware properly. Xbox fans should learn to be more dignified about this just now because the Playstation is yet to be properly utilised but when it is there will be no doubt which one has the better graphical output..... i really don’t get why we all need to throw stones at each other rather than just being happy we have such exceptional hardware and stunning games to play, regardless of the platform!
i think what we really need to for these to be adapted for use with a console.... im assuming from the article that they dont work with a console already?
