@OllieBrown @OHGFawx It's all about talent. not tits.

If they have the talent, be that artisitc or programming, or conceptual or whatever, they'll be hired, wether or not they're female, wether or not they own a pair of tits.

EA, and all other gaming compasnies, are about the money. Nothing else/.

The sexism argument is dumb and unfounded. Unless they want to talk about sexual objectification within games, or trivial sexist jibes, or serious sexual harassment issues.

@OllieBrown I think the issue is being discussed because she's a woman. If she were a man I bet the interview would be about Army of Two.

@andrew_ribbons @Derpalon Dark? But iOS is massively popular, and for some, massively profitable. I doubt any Nintendo venture on iOS would yield dark results.

@roundthetwist06 @davedrastic @hombreg1 Do we get to visit their offices? Do they have a nice view? Will they provide coffee? Is the receptionist cute?

@Stonecutters908 @davedrastic I agree that Nintendo are unlikely to ever go out of business entirely. I would say for 2 key reasons. Firstly they have what is currently, and what has been for at least the last 2 decades, which have been the majority of the life-span of the games industry to date, far and away the most loved and impressive, and I would say "perfect", line-up of game characters. They're arguably second to Disney or Pixar but then Pixar aren't even in the games industry, barely.

Secondly because of their game development approach has assured a high standard of games with excellent consistency and they have clearly mastered at least one gaming genre - albeit a dying one *(platformers).

BUT, they most certainly are capable of losing a massive percentage of their market value. Easily. They're heading that way right now.

They probably will be forced out of the hardware business. I would say that they can only have another home based console if it were to be a market leader again - making another lack-lustre machine won't sell 25 million, it'll sell 5 million. It will hurt them alot.

They promised us, naturally, that the Wii U was going to be great. It's not. For anyone. They got it wrong. Again. We're disappointed. Again. We will all be highly skeptical before purchasing another Nintendo home console.

I personally think that Nintendo have been farming for the last 20 years. They've been milking their franchises. Unquestionably. They've been launching sub-par console after sub-par console. And have been maintaining the success they've had ONLY on the strength of their characters and game design. They're game design has been trumped by third party developers, unquestionably, so that leaves only the cuteness of their characters. Those characters can only make Nintendo money if people buy their consoles, which they won't because they keep releasing sub-par consoles.

Nintendo have lost. They've shot themselves in the foot. It's their own fault.

They either recover now, and quickly, which I don't see that they can. Or they toodle off and do something different, such as be bought by Apple for Apple-Nintendo to dominate the market.

@Stonecutters908 @davedrastic Yes, I saw (on a website) the trailers / demos for Watch Dogs and 1313, and I found some of the art work in 1313 to be excellent, perhaps next level - but then the gameplay was exactly the same as any other game. Third person view, main character still looks like an action figure. OK more things are happening on screen, it DOES look better than any PS3 game, but fundamentally not MUCH better.

@andrew_ribbons Yes the saving grace for the next/current gen, whatever we're calling it, is the price. $400 to $500 AUD is pretty palatable. $350 for a Wii U is a bargain in my mind, and I have no interest in the machine. I might well pick it up when it's $200, but that's more to do with being addicted to buying technology and game related stuff.

At $400 I think a lot of us could justify the cost of an upgrade, it becomes a lot harder to do as the price gets higher.
