The CEs I like the most are the ones that include extra content that's relevant to the game. Halo 3 had a journal that one of the scientists wrote that had insight to the coming problems. ACIII had George Washington's journal. Alan Wake had a book that had passages supposedly written by Wake. It's those things that directly tie in to the gaming experience that are the best CE inclusions. I also love the soundtracks being included (CD's... NOT downloads!).

Dammit. Why? KOTOR was easily one of my favorite SINGLE PLAYER game franchises as is The Elder Scrolls. WHY?!?!? ... do you have to keep making f{}cking World of Warcraft out of them?!?! Some of us LONG TIME FANS will NEVER want to nor will we ever play an MMO. *sigh*

One of the greatest villains in any video game HAD to be Darth Revan of Knights of the Old Republic. You spend a good portion of the game looking for him, and I still remember the shivers I got when I found him. Those who played through the game will know what I'm talking about. Nice article. And yes, the villain MAKES the story. One of my favorite villains of all time was in a movie called In the Line of Fire, played by John Malkovich. If you haven't seen it, he's brilliant.

Wow.. My card is barely a year old (Radeon HD 2600 Pro) and already on the bottom of the list. I'm having a real hard time keeping up with technology. Heck, it took me 8 years to replace my Windows 98SE machine!

OK... I agree that GTAIII should be on this list. But not having Morrowind as one of the Greatest Games ever is truly criminal. GTA's claim to fame, it's "open-endedness" is what it failed to do while Morrowind got it right. The simple fact of the matter is this, in GTAIII, you DO have to follow the story line if you want to see the rest of the world. I've never been off of Portland because I don't know what I have to do to get the bridge or tunnel opened. I've never even seen the other two islands. I tried to swim over, but dude can't swim. In Morrowind you were able to swim or levitate ANYWHERE in the huge world. And you had to swim REALLY far out to sea before you actually hit the edge of the map. You also could go into any building and interact with NPCs. The GTA NPCs were total zombies... and there were very few buildings you could go into and most were story related. Morrowind also had about 12 different factions you could work with. Some even conflicted with others politically. Oh... and the gun aiming dynamic in GTAIII was horrible. BUT... I did enjoy driving around and listening to the radio. I really appreciated the satirical sense of humor. I'm not saying that it doesn't belong on this list... it does. I'm just saying that the "open world" concept was done MUCH better a few month's later with the release of Morrowind. (So... how do you get the bridge or tunnel open anyway?)
