Right now my budget is $200 as money's kinda tight right now and I have a lot of other things I need to pay for right now.

Are you looking to go for 2 cards again or one?

A 15" SVI LCD monitor. is it worth $35?

Naked-Snake
Yes, the price is good. However it could be a complete waste of money depending on what the LCD is actually for.

Make sure you not only uninstall ATI drivers and also ALL ATI software as well.. like Catalyst Center.

Also, when you reboot, your operating system might automaticaly install generic drivers for the video card.

You may want to research online how to completely remove ATI drivers/software.

Where do most RPG's fail?incarnum13
I believe that there are two types of 'failures.' 1 is when you grind to 'max level' and finish that content.. would you start all over? if no, fail.. 2 is when you get to level 20 and you think to yourself 'oh man 40 more levels of this!?' if yes, fail So for 1 and 2 you would need variety in characters or how they characters 'live out' their 'careers.'

Also i just relalized, if i turn the computer off then turn it back on within a certain amount of time, the computer will boot up normally no problems. im hoping that this will narrow the options down

teldath
Could be an issue with the ground wire in the power supply (if so replacement is only option). Also, try booting up without any USB connections (or try it minus each one at a time).. I've heard of that causing problems with Asus boards. PS: That power supply is -supposed- to last about 11 years, fyi.

http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/PSU/

Read what antec is saying. Typically if you get a good enough power supply with sufficient wattage, AMP is rarely a factor. For example, my 4870x2 should definitly need more than 18A on the 12v rail supporting the card but my (1000W PSU with 18A on each of the 12V rail) supports it just fine.

AzNs3nSaT1On
Antec: "On a typical Antec multi-rail PSU with a 40A OCP set point, the total power available on each +12V rail through the 6- or 8-pin connector is 40A times +12V = 480 watts each. That's more than sufficient to power the graphics card with power left over, and certainly enough for any multi-graphics card setup available in the market once an additional +12V rail is used." Yes, if you have multiple rails (ex: 2 rails @ 18A each) powering each video card, you're good.

According to CPU-Z my idle temp is about 58 C, and after playing Mafia 2 at full settings for about a half hour it's about 80C. So is that ok? I do have a lifetime warrenty on this card, but I bet it's a real pain to try and use it

gregbmil
Not alarming.. But maybe you could drop down a resolution when you're gaming. Big screen for that aging card. :)

Hello, today I saw an amazing deal on gtx 465 and bought it.

so....

I was wondering in terms of heat and fan noise would the 465 be louder and hotter? I cant find a direct comparison online.

btw.. what should I do with my 4890.. sell it on ebay? it's XFX so I assume the resale value isn't too bad...

FanaFall
They're basically the same card. 465 will need more juice and cooling.
