It did seem as though many games were using the very similar formulas such as throat stabs, bows and arrows, ellen page looking characters, male protagonists that have short black hair and stubble, explosions, animals. It sucks when so much becomes the same. Violence has been in tomb raider forever, just now they can use more interesting effects than shooting someone till they drop. If it ads to the game then go for it, but it wouldnt hurt if those resources used to create a slow motion throat slash were instead used for making the gameplay and story better.

Is Ryo Hazuki in this one? Havent played the first one yet but i always wanted to, but please make shenmue comeback! Anyone remember street racer on PSX? It was a cool ubisoft kart racer, and you could fly in one of the vehicles in that. Its alway overlooked in the kart racing world.

Ive finsihed BF3 single player (quite buggy) and now im nearly done with codmw3 single player (slick FPS no bugs so far). Both campaigns are great. Im not much of a multi player guy, I dabble in it but campaign is what I most care about. I love COD, Ive played and finished COD1 PC, COD2 PC, COD3 PS3, COD4:MW PS3/PC/XBOX360, COD:WAW PS3, COD:MW2 PS3, COD:BO PS3, and now COD:MW3 PC. Ive even played the horrible N-Gage COD, but I havent played the PSP COD, or Call of Duty: Finest Hour and only played the first two missions on Big Red One. They are both great war based FPS games, im hoping that the next installments are more history based again and more realistic e.g Why do russians have G36 and L85A2 LSW?. I would like to see a WW1 game, bolt actions, revolvers, shotguns, early automatic's, maxim guns etc. Or Korea, or proper Vietnam (BO didnt cut it) or British Palestine/Israel, Suez canal, Malaya, Soviets in Afghanistan, or maybe just a game devoted to SAS with Price and Soap in the Falklands/Iranian Embassy/Bravo Two Zero. Or WW2 again but in India.

But since then Ive played every GTA since with a vengeance. GTA has been a huge part of my life. I had plenty more to my GTA story but Gamespot character limit stopped me.

I remember back when I was like 9 and people would talk about the 2D PS1 GTA's being so offensive and my mum wouldnt get it me, my friends had it but I shunned it partly because of how Id heard you run over women for points (that was the media hysteria in the UK at the time), and also because I was unimpressed by the 2D top down view, Driver 2 seemed far more the future, the fact that you could get out of your car, steal cars and get chased by police was awesome. Then I moved house and my first best friend in this new area got a ps2 and gta 3 in 2001 or so. And wow it was amazing, I remember the atmosphere of playing it in his room in the dark winter months listening to marshall mathers LP, D12 and other hip hop. We would take it in turns to see how many stars we could build up and survive, when you die you pass the controller back and my friend would have a go.We would both use cheats and try and trick each other that we hadnt been wasted if the other one wasnt looking!. We must of used every cheat going, trying to fly the dodo and getting the tank to go faster by firing the cannon backwords, sniping people with nasty limbs on it was awesome. Me and my friend fell out over nothing and we never really spoke again not even now. I ended up getting a gamecube so no GTA for me. Then I hung around with another friend who got vice city, but it wasnt the same, infact im yet to properley play vice city (ive played through vc stories on PSP).

I suppose its no surprise when Rockstar had made LA noire, Midnight club LA, and also proably have desert/mountain stuff they can use from Red Dead Redemption. Perhaps there will be other areas e.g Mexico?. I know this game is gonna be superb like all GTA's but I am abit dissapointed that we didnt get a UK, France, Hong Kong, Japan, India, South Africa etc based game. I hope one day we will get a GTA that isnt in the USA.

Why dont we see many Arcades in the UK? Honestly theres not many, which I think is strange as Arcades make a hell of a lot of money.

Had the DC been around longer it would of seriously ruled the online gaming market. PS2 never had much of an online experience, Gamecube pff all they did online is port PSO. Ive always had my suspicions that MS somehow helped in the demise of the DC just so they could enter the market with the XBOX. Theres something about the DC that gives you a certain feeling. I dont know what it is but when you play one or turn one on theres just this warm feeling. You just dont get that with the PS3 360 or Wii IMO. Yeah the controllers sucked, but in time Sega would of improved them just like Sega would of included broadband adapters and DVD capability. And who knows, they might of released more advanced VMU that would act as MP3/MP4 players. Oh the possibilities were so great.

my friend got a DC on launch and when I saw sonic 3d, crazy taxi, MK gold, F355 and later Shenmue I was amazed. I was happy just watching him play these games for a couple of hours. I was only 10 and I had a ps1 which just looked so ancient after seeing DC. A couple of years ago I decided to buy a used DC at a London branch of CEX. I paid £30 and got a DC, 2 vmus and Shenmue 1. I got home and played shenmue that previously I had only seen my friend play for a few hours. The game was astounding, next I bought Shenmue 2 which IMO was even more astounding. Once those credits rolled in Shen 2 I honestly did cry a little. No game has given me such emotion. Everything about shenmue is amazing and HAS NOT been rivalled since. The music amazing, the story amazing, the visuals amazing, the detail and the fact you can walk into so many buildings and talk to so many people was amazing. Walking through those Chinese rocky and country areas later on in shenmue 2 was also amazing. Going in that cave was amazing. Honestly I dont understand why anyone wouldnt like this game, its more than a game . And shouldnt be belittled with those very tired sailor jokes. I like many others have so much hope for a shenmue 3 to one day arive.
