but that's just the things, no other game is affected by it. ONLY battlefield games. Is battlefield more demanding on bandwith than other games?

I was hoping you guys could help me figure out a issue that has me flummoxed.

All recent Battlefield games (BC2, BF3, Heroes, Play4Free) lag severely for me. I have no lag on any other online title. Basically, I can get into any Battlefield game server I please, but the lag is soooo bad that I have to quit or I get booted.

When I was living in London and Abu Dhaboi I had no issues whatsoever. I moved to uni now and all I get is lag in Battlefield. I've also switched to a laptop, but I've tested it outside of uni and I have no problem running the games on high smoothly. Could the problem be my university connection (which is hella fast)? If so, then why is only battlefield affected and no other game or downloading application? It can't be a server side issue because I've tried low ping servers and tested other variables but they all lag.

My problem is that the beta looks like ass and plays like ass. There is SO MUCH lag that I die a few secons after actually getting shot. Also, sometimes an enemy i shot in one place dies miles away a few seconds later. Moreover, there is some kind of rubberbanding going on where I can't control my movements asnd the game throws me around while I'm trying to move or aim.

However, when it all runs smoothly...it is delightful. All the mechanics work flawlessly. Battle log is clean and intuitive but it could use a few more options. Load times are fast and will probably get even faster. Splendid game which I'm happy to spend money on.

I wish they had released a a more current build because thie BETA is dated and is only annoying people. As someone who works in the industry, people should realise that DICE is probably 5 or more builds ahead of this BETA and a lot of the issues we are experiencing are probably long gone. The BETA is not current and that's why it is the buggy mess that it is.

Only the RETAIL boxed copies are region locked. Online purchases are not region locked.

and Steam does have different release dates for different regions. UK and US releases are not on the same day.

I bought it online on Steam but paid the quoted US price and not the UK price. However, I'm told on Steam that the game will unlock on the 26th instead of the 23rd which is the US release.

I have a Steam account and I used to be in the UK. As expected, I was shown the UK page with the UK pricing. I recently moved out of the country on my way to Canada to do a grad degree. Currently, I'm in Abu Dhabi, UAE. My Steam page now shows me the US site with price in USD.

I thought this was cool and preordered Deus Ex HR with a UK debit card thinking it would unlock early. Instead, I still see the US page and prices but i says Deus Ex HR will unlock on the 26th August. I even created a new account from here but no dice.

Why is Steam having a double personality? Any way I can bypass this and have the game unlock on the 23rd?

they are going to continue with the african setting. other than that it's antarctica.

i don't think it deserves it. it had no story whatsoever. you learn nothing substantially new about the main threat and you just go around picking up useless companions. also, there were TOO MANY companions. what do I do with them? most of the characters are pretty dull as well (jacob,samara,zayed). mining on the planets was just as bad as driving a mako around.

It was fun to play though. I just missed all the RPG, inventory, armour, weapons, mods etc... from the first one. I'd personally give it to New Vegas/Bad Company 2.
