If you're used to FPSs (can move & shoot at same time) or if you want to kill every bad guy on every level, RE5 may seem like a hard game. And your game play style might be making it harder.

Here are some tips:

-Do not stay in 1 spot too long. Why, the bad guys will get you. I suggest shooting from safe distances & moving to a new location when bad guys getting too close.

-When you do stay in one spot for awhile, do not stand out in the open. Why, out in open bad guys can/will attack you from every angle. I suggest fighting/shooting from isolated locations. Why, choose locations where bad guys are funneled to you from only 1 or 2 directions (easier to defend yourself).

-Do not always try to kill every bad guy. Why, the purpose of every fight is not to kill every bad guy, some fights are a timed survival (stay alive & kill some bad guys- first fight)

-Use the melee attack when possible (when a shot bad guy stumbles, if you are close enough to him, you will get a hit/kick prompt, do it). Why, it conserves ammo (not shooting) & any/every bad guy within striking distance/range will be knocked back or down (good attack on swarm of bad guys- first fight)

-Make sure your guns are loaded & ready before you get to a fight. Why, so you aren't loading your gun while a bad guy is kicking your a--. And share ammo. Why, so neither player gets overwhelmed & dies. Listen to music, fight starts with bad guys music & fight over when music stops.

-Be mindful of your d-pad quick item inventory selections (4 items can be set to be equiped with a 1 button press, choose 4 essential items). Why, so you aren't messing with your inventory while a bad guy is kicking your a--.

Drop me a note if you're looking for someone to play with. Why, I enjoy RE5 (& have mic), I never finished it, & I will not lecture you about how the early RE games were so much harder- they are just different (but I may rave about RE4 a little). I play video games to have fun.

Can't believe I'm the first one to suggest this... Resident Evil 5.

Why... fun (everyone likes shooting zombies & virus infected baddies), coop (guy & girl lead characters), good story (but not all cut scenes) , easy learning curve (for non-gamer), if she wants to just watch at first you can AI it or online coop until she's hooked, Sheva is a bad ass (don't most girls wanna be a video game bad ass, just like guys?), & a relationship/conflict barometer (if you can't work together to survive/enjoy the perils of RE5 the relationship won't last).

*Tip: Don't let her catch you staring at Sheva's ass too long.

LMAO, I hope you aren't serious.

As serious as a guy with a wife, 2 kids, a dog, a cat & a mortgage can be. Introduced the wife & her whole family to gaming. None of them gamed before I came around & now they all game. 55 yr old father-in-law just got Move last xmas. I play Tiger Woods with father-in-law, LBP with wife & RE5 with sister-in-law (among others).

Don't underestimate the allure of shooting zombies, its primal.

And hell yeah I'm serious, if you can't communicate well enough to survive/enjoy playing RE5 coop, how you gonna make a relationship work. RE5 is a cakewalk compared to a committed relationship.

No no no no no no no. Yes the PS3 will last 10 years but that does NOT mean there won't be a console selling alongside it at the same time. The situtation will be the same as it is now with the PS2 selling alongside the PS3.

We're gonna see something major on the PS4 at E3 2012 if not an actual release. Quote me on it.

I have you on record. I will expect a full apology when you are proven wrong.

I also think it will be later because the PS3 is last in console sales (compared to Wii & 360), Sony just started making profit on actual PS3 hardware about 1 1/2 yr ago, & the PS3 library of quality games just hit a good stride about 3/4-1yr ago. Sony will squeeze way more $$$ out of the PS3 before they bring out the next-gen console, keep in mind the PS2 is still selling ok.

Although, even if we do see/hear something @ E3 2012 it may not be out until 2014 or 2015. How bad would it piss you off for them to start the anticipation 2 yrs before the release?

I'm going with what I've read & what I've seen...

-PS4 will not be out before late 2015, at the earliest (because of communicated console life cycle of 10 years)

-PS4 will not initially launch with a collection of models & prices, maybe only a couple memory options (one of the biggest/most successful selling points of PS3 is it "only does everything", why would they then upgrade to a model that doesn't do everything!?!)

-PS4 will not be BC (this is how they initially lost $$$ on every PS3 sold; & because Sony is inconsistent on BC in general, their SOP is to try something & dump it if its not profittable enough)

-PS4 may not read physical media disks (the future is all download only, by PS4 not reading disks Sony can charge to download/rebuy old titles AGAIN, just like they are doing with the PS1 games on PSN, the PSPGo & they will do this with the NGP too)

Very telling quotes. He obviously holds himself to high standards. Ico & SOTC weren't good enough... curious. I wonder if he's measuring quality by sales figures or popularity. I think it is safe to say Ico & SOTC have a cult-like following, kinda like the cult-like following of a movie like Rocky Horror Picture Show (not a great comparison). And even though Rocky Horror is still playing weekly at some movie theaters, I doubt it earned comparable profits to a movie like... Avatar. I would say Ico & SOTC didn't sell well because they aren't mainstream enough & the gameplay isn't obvious/easy enough to appeal to lowest common denominator gamers. I like both games, but got frustrated with both as well. I don't consider myself a dumb gamer, but both games made me ask "What do I do next?". It's fun to think of someone like Ueda playing or designing a FPS, he might be able to elevate the genre a bit.

Get PS3 + gift card, wait for Homefront (HF is gonna be epic).

There are also many great used PS3 games: Uncharted 2 for $26 (stellar sp, great online- coop & TDM), Metal Gear Solid 4 for $12 (great gameplay, lots story- almost too much, ok online), Orange Box for $9 (5 solid games for under $10, worth it just for Portal & Team Fortress 2), Warhawk for $9 (great & balanced online 3rd person shooter game), Resistance 1 & 2 (great sp, ok online), RE5 for $13 (fun coop shooter/thriller) & Little Big Planet for $12 (very fun platformer, coop offline).

Gotta say Warhawk, easily the game I've clocked the most online hrs in. Especially dig that I can play online coop at same time as offline coop. Pretty cool playing in an online match & splitscreening so a few buddies can join the fray.

[QUOTE="Nuck81"]When it is loading a game pick it up and shake it around a bit, that will make the disc spin faster and load a lot quicker. When the fan is really picking up speed it's just because a wire has gotten loose from the air and it can't detect the internal temp. Smack it really hard on the top of the system. That will make the wire settle in and the fans should stop...j5r9s2
wow, someone brings a problem and your no help at all. it would of been better for you too not log in at all. Good advice would of been, maybe try cleaning out your system by vacume or can of air. hold can upright spray into blue ray drive maybe there is dust on your laser, or, make sure your disc is free from fingerprints so the laser can read it better. hopefully no one take the advise to shake or slap system. this would most likely break there investment.

Hey man, don't go criticizing unless you've walked a mile in someone's shoes. For your info my PS3 slim was doing the same crap noises & the"shake then smack" repair worked on mine. Unless you work for SONY (doubt it), I don't think you should be qualifying different repair methods.
