I think this thing would have been a really good seller if it was like $150 from the start and had a cute, compact for factor. Didn't have to be like an Xbox mini but just something really sleek, portable, and cool looking. There are a lot of gamers who like to double up on SKU's and I think a lot of people would have grabbed this if they could get it cheap and it had a fresh design.
I could see lots of people who had no intention of getting an Xbox to get one as a Game Pass and media streaming machine. Missed opportunity.
I don't really care for a prequel thousands of years in the past. Rather see another story we don't know the outcome of already. I'd really like to see a game with emergent story telling.
This is how Microsoft can make a come back. Let talented people be talented and do their thing. Great step forward! Please continue to fully support them for years. Do that and the fans will follow.
Next generation will be absolute murder on my data cap. Games gonna be clocking in at 100-200 gigs. Things like gamepass and streaming will be brutal if I don't keep an eye on what I'm downloading and streaming.
The Walking Dead needs a survival, community building game. Not a shooting action game. State of Decay was the closest thing but the second game did not take the leaps it needed to to make TWD like world come to life. We really need a game that pushes a community, people you have to take care of, and situations you have to deal with. In particular we really need the element of other humans/communities being in the world and being threats.
@consolehaven: Streaming is 1000 percent the future of gaming. I have messed around with it since Onlive first came out and its come a long way. The google stream of Ass Creed sold me. I could see the near future being strictly or mostly streaming. Microsoft is making all them moves to prepare for that future. In 10-15 years we wont be buying consoles but subscribing to platforms and playing them on all our devices. Everything will essentially be a Switch. Sony and Nintendo will do this too.
I really like what Xbox is doing with gamepass. Grabbing unique niche games like this and putting on there from the start is a great way to introduce new consumers to them and keep people subscribed. Really interesting business model.
