@steve4123456789 @boom_f15 @Bowser05 Im just pointing out that most people on this site (core gamers) will have both new system within a few years and they are basically the same thing.

@gilldominic Just curious, but do you have one?

I agree the marketing has been and still is bad, but the system and games aren't as bad as everyone likes to think they are.

@steve4123456789 @Bowser05 The question is who wouldn't buy a WiiU as a great 2nd system once the PS4 and XB1 launch?

The PS4 and XB1 are essentially the same thing but the WiiU offers great exclusives and a different feel for less money.

People just like to hate on Nintendo, it's massive reverse fanboyism. All is not well with the WiiU, but it is a fun console. I want my shiny new AAA titles for my 360 (and soon my PS4) but as a secondary console the WiiU rocks. There are not hundreds of titles like on the other systems but thats not to say there aren't good ones. Even if every 3rd party developer abandoned the WiiU today, there is enough out there now and in the future from 1st party studios to justify buying one (as a second system and especially with the new price cut).

@WhiteTulip1 The incentive is that you get to have a new console on day 1! Seriously though, you have a point but if you are going to spend the money anyway in the next year, why not get one right away? It's not like getting a PS4 means you can't keep your PS3 if you are worried about not having enough to play.

@StHapns247 @boom_f15 Yeah, but that's my point. I get it for launch window games, but this (and DA is the other big one for me) is still a long way out.

I can't wait for this one, but am I the only one irked that a bunch of these big new games coming out a year from now are still going to be cross-gen (aka held back from their full potential)? I understand that the install base needs to be built up first but won't most core gamers have a new system by next year?

@xxYetterxx The event was definitely geared towards indies but saying that the PS4 doesn't have anything but indie games is like saying the XB1 is only good for watching TV.

"Sony truly does care about indies and it's going out of its way to help them find the people, tools and facilities they need to realize their visions"

Sort of... Sony (just like MS) is a multinational mega corporation who's main concern is the bottom-line. I don't mean that as an insult like most probably would but rather as a reality check for people buying into the "Sony is one of us" hype. As this generation gears up for launch, Sony is betting on people gravitating more towards smaller and less expensive games (just like on mobile platforms) while MS started off focusing on the big blockbusters (after TV of course) because that is where they see the most potential profit.

Now that MS has been forced to re-think their strategy, I'm sure we will start to see (and already have) a bigger push to court the indie sector.

@xxYetterxx I think the reason was that you don't know what you are going to get with an XB1. Whether you agree with it or not is another issue, but only a MS fanboy would see the comment as merely "trashing MS."
