As mentioned in the article - people preorder for the free swag. I can always cancel my preorder if the game isn't shaping up as it gets closer to release. There's no difference between preordering and going into a shop and buying the game during week 1 of release...I have no problem with it. Especially in the case of Assassin's Creed - Ubisoft put out 4 great games in the series, and at this point there's trust that they'll put out a great 5th game. Obviously, there will be hell to pay in the form of a public flogging if they don't deliver - but that's no different than any highly anticipated game now-a-days.

The game is great - people just like to complain and be a part of the general clique that thinks it's cool to rebel against corporations because they are 'greedy.' Meanwhile, the 'rebels' turn a blind eye to the fact that these same corporations produce the products we love to enjoy, and afford us the quality of life we live (and if you're reading my message - you're already in the top 1/3 of the world for just having ACCESS to the internet. If you own the computer you're on - you're even richer - top 10%). Give the rebels 10 years to mature, and they'll see the flaws of their arguments, and learn to appreciate the masterpieces that these "corporate greed machines" produce. In the meantime, put away your Communist Manifesto and step into the world of capitalism, baby, the land where we vote with dollars and if you don't like something, don't buy it.

I was a victim of the FIFA hack. I was disgusted by MS policy in fraud investigations in that the account had to be locked for at least 4 weeks while the investigation was conducted. Thankfully, I didn't have a card attached, but the hackers stole about 1000 MS points from me. I swallowed my losses and waived on an investigation since BF3 was coming out and I was willing to sacrifice $10 for the online play. They denied having anything to do with the breach, but I have to believe it's either on MS's end or EA's - I don't use my gamertag for any other handle, password is absolutely unique, and I've never typed it in anywhere besides my console. So there's a security breach somewhere...I will never have a credit card associated with my account on Live, and this ongoing fraud is an embarrassment to MS and the way they've handled the complaints.
