He said animations because, animation frames make the game look laggy or smooth, turns and reaction frames look smoother and more responsive if the animations are done correctly. That is the CORE of the formations and movement. If that does not work correctly you would see high latency in clicks and reactions to commands. he is not talking about Awesome looking Faces ... that is Texturing .. he is talking about animation frames which is a completely different set of things. The Animation department needs to check each animation responsiveness ..for example when you click the charge button the first frame of the Charge Animation and current Frame which could be walking or Halted should smoothly change. If that does not happen then you would see a jerk in the animation or it will lag for a bit an you will feel as if the click you just made did not work..and in the end it will result a bad game play experience.
Is this an EA game? what nooo??? and still you have incorporated the DLC's? Your games are good ... don't try to milk it this way... I would rather prefer to buy expansions that DLC's ... stop right now! FIRE your production manager and hire a new one... as this decision is stupid. Weak games need DLC's to promote sales not the Total War Series. When this game comes out you will face multiple bugs cuz of DLC's and will lose the initial sales. DLC's will mean people without internet connection cannot buy the extra content. You are only making your customer base smaller by having DLC's ... I don't like DLC's and I believe there are more like me. Witcher 2 had DLC's ...never bought any of them. Reason you ask why? Cuz it does not fit into the whole gaming experience.

Gamer: Woah! Total War 2 ...super awesome! I am gonna get it today!
He goes and buys the game (Digital / Disk) inserts disk -> Installs game -> Starts Playing.
Plays for 10 days nonstop!
Finishes the map... awesome!
Time for another Map...
Hmm pestering DLC screens... damn I need my Credit card ... but but I have to pay for it again why????? I just paid 60$ 10 days back! The Frustration ..the anger! How much more do you want!!! ARRRGH!
That there is what you achieve by having DLC's ... the gamer just loved the game.. and yet you managed to annoy him ...
This is the state of DLC's ... In my point of view you are only annoying the player base.
I understand game development is not charity, so if you really wanted to make money make an EXPANSION and make another product like you did with Rome Total War Alexander , Barbarian etc... I purchased them ... but I wont buy a stupid DLC which has NO content and is pretty irritating to know that even though you paid 60$ on a game you still did not buy the FULL game.
So, in my view, make a new expansion DISK/ Digital Product. I will buy that Expansion and the FULL Total Rome 2 Game. At the least I will know that I don't have to pay more and more and more. Remember it is a game not a real estate investment that a gamer is making ... keep it that way.
Dang! They missed showing a dragon in this Video... well every other MMO since the last decade has at least 1 dragon in their MMO. I am on a quest to find a MMO game which does not have any dragons. help me pls!
Someone needs to BAN game companies from buying out other game companies. What they should do is if they want to buy other smaller game companies, then there has to be NO name of the smaller company what so ever . That way people won't get fooled when they see a good but small game company which makes a game but is then bought out by companies like EA , who make the smaller company add DRM , microtransactions and on disk DLC's .... .. gasp gasp... aaawww fck it.. i am tired. No money for u EA.
soooo glad that i goy my GTX 670 4GB already .. i am sure it will utilize all of that 4GB in the graphics card.. although the 2GB version is cheaper by a lot.. this game will probably need more than 3 GB at the least.

@wexorian @hector530 I have seen a lot of BOTs in GW2 and I play both games..WOW and GW2 ..but about to quit GW2 ...because its not my style of gameplay...no crafting system no dungeons...oh wait there are dungeons...in GW2..and you can't play them unless you have some silver to spend..whcih you can't make because you can't trade anything in GW2....i like trading my crafted gears..but oh wait.."GEAR DON"T MATTER in GW2" ...but wait again... Then Whats the Point at lvl 80? OH WAIT ! I read soemoen saying in my guild " in GW2 when you reach lvl 80 you do dungeons to get APPEARANCE items!!! HAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA
