I can't believe Gamespot is diluting its brand equity by associating with this guy. He's trash. After Colonial Marines, he's become the most hated Game Exec out there!

And why didn't anyone egg them?

The last good trek game was Elite Force, which was launched a decade ago. Its sad that repeated failures of awesome franchises by developers like Gearbox and these fools will ultimately lead to the shut down of movie based games

Randy Pitchford is an insult to the gaming industry. I know of no better con artist than the man who was "excited" about Duke Nukem and Aliens Colonial Marines.

I'm beginning to questions Gamespot's credibility for interviewing folks like Randy , who clearly do more to harm the industry than help it.

I have two things to say:

1) I didn't think Colonial Marines was thaaaaat bad. Maybe a 6/10. Not quite a game that lives up to Randy Ptchford's hype but interesting enough to play through once. Terrible AI and storyline though.

2) Gearbox software needs to be banned, alongwith the folks who sold us on their passion for Aliens. Its clear that no such passion existed. They wanted to milk a franchise and it appears that they succeeded

I was very nervous after reading all the reviews trashing the game. I have to say was pleasantly surprised because I expected a 4.5/10 game and got a 6.5/10 game. If you're a fan of the franchise, that goes up to a max of 7.5/10. Gamespot is particularly harsh on Aliens games and this is no different. That being said, someone needs to run Gearbox out of the gaming business for all the false promises! And perhaps take Randy out too!
