Definitely thought we'd get some interest from GS - come on people - get signing up. Can only be a great tournament with a fair few signed up to make the game events worthwhile.

Hello all...this tournament is straightforward and should be fun...but we need you to be interested to make it work.
It's an Olympic-style idea where you can participate in as many or as few events as you want...obviously depending on whether you have the games and can make the event times!
Overall it is meant to be a laugh!
Myself and a lad called Craig will be running the event. The games to be part of the tournament will be:
Modern Warfare 3
Fifa 12
Forza 4
Ghost Recon Future Soldier
Trials Evolution
Gears of War 3
Bad Company 2
Top Spin 4
Madden 12
Battlefield 3
NFS Hot Pursuit
London 2012 Olympics
Black Ops 2
Fifa 13
Forza Horizon
Halo 4
NFS Most Wanted
PES 13
Transformers FAC
F1 2012
Medal of Honor: Warfighter
Farcry 3
*More games can be suggested by tournament players and if there's interest we'll add them to the list.
We will put these into an order of when to be played (these details will be released before the tournament begins).
The rules for the tournament therefore will be:
Before the tournament begins each player will nominate one game which will be their double points game.
Players can enter as many or as few game events as possible. This will obviously depend on whether each player has the game needed for the event and/or whether they can be available for the event (myself and Craig will give a lot of notice for players).
Each game event will have its rules set out in a separate thread just for that game event. For example, the MW3 event will probably be a series of FFA matches in all of the original maps. For scoring, every player in each game event will score one point for every tournament player they finish above - e.g. if there are 10 players in the MW3 game event and you finish 1st you will receive 9 points, if you finish 2nd you would get 8 points.
Myself and Craig will update the tournament league standings in this thread with the order of players, their points total and also the number of games played (obviously people who enter more events might get more points than those who don't, but it will be obvious how they've got the points because we'll state how many events entered).
We have a few already interested so please sign up below to state your interest in joining the tournament. (You don't need to do anything other than just put your username at the moment!). If you have other Xbox friends who might want to participate but aren't on this forum then you can add them to the list on their behalf.
Current Tournament Players (from another forum where this is also posted):
The Rebel MC (me)
Craigcwwe (the other tournament runner)
ri916
Pnefc22
tom_numbers
Northern Soul
Carmi88
Mr Villa
G-Man 11
Please sign up to state your interest by Friday 17th August so we can get cracking.
Thanks all.
Basically what it says in the title - does Blur still have an active online community?
Am thinking of picking this game up now seeing as it's cheap, is meant to be good, and I never played it when it came out.
Thanks for any info!
If you're running it through your computer/laptop you need to enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) - check out the relevant details on the xbox website about connections and you will be able to get it sorted.
I got mine yesterday (preorder through the post) and so far I have to say I am quite disappointed - the graphics are good...but I'd expect that from a GT game - the online was poor (it was last night and servers might have only just been running a while) - no lag...but some quite boring races and the online interface isn't the best. The single player menu interface is a bit cluttered but I think you have the option to customize it. I did feel a bit underwhelmed with it when I finished playing last night...maybe when I start getting the better cars and unlocking more stuff I might see it differently.
Nothing to do with the TV or cables my friend. The only things that may stop you pairing the controller with the console are:
- there's no power in the controller - check pressing the xbox button in the middle to see if the lights flash - if they do then there is obviously power
- the console won't recognise the controller - is there another controller you can use to check if it will pair with the console?
Apart from that I haven't got a clue - you are pairing it right aren't you?
Cheers Stroppy - I think you may be right about that info - when I bought the TV I am sure it could only do 720P/1080i - so I was just wondering if the 1080P setting was right or if it was getting scaled down.
Hopfully I can just leave it on that setting - like I said I don't get any fuzziness or glitches - so it should be fine leaving it on that!
Cheers bud!
I haven't had any problems with fuzziness or glitches - when I changed over to the 1080P settings for both consoles it comes up with the screen saying if I could see the message then it was fine - so I've kept it on that.
I hope it's not going to break my tv - that would be a disaster!
To be honest...I've had the PS3 settings on 1080P for ages and it's been fine...so I shouldn't encounter a problem...I hope!
I switched the mode the other day on my 360 to 1080P and it seems to be working fine - can't see a massive difference from 720p (it is only a 32" TV so I didn't expect that much difference anyway!) but I'm glad it could select that mode fine.
I didn't think my TV could do 1080P - it's a Toshiba WLT68 32" - I changed the PS3 setting the other week to 1080P and it did that fine - so I thought I'd try the 360 option and it seems fine as well, plus it's through component cables and not a HDMI connection.
What I'm enquiring about is...I was certain my Tosh WLT68 32" could only go to 1080i at most - so now that I've got my 360 and PS3 settings to 1080P and they are working fine, does that mean I'm definitely getting a 1080P setting? Or is it saying that and it hasn't really changed and is still running at 720P/1080i?
I hope you understand the query...I've probably not put it well but it is hard enough to explain.
Thanks for any help!
I upgraded mine over summer to 500mb - I got a Western Digital one off Amazon - cost me about £65 - dead easy to change - I backed up my save games and stuff onto another external hd I had - then swapped over - I then bought an external hd enclosure for about £7 and put the original hdd into that to give to the missus - now I've been able to save loads of films and stuff onto my PS3 - go ahead with it - it's dead easy!
