Hey guys, if you pirated this game and you have the money to pay for it...PAY FOR IT! The guy who made the game (yeah, one guy) isn't a millionaire. He doesn't work for a big company and get a yearly salary. He needs the money and I'm sure he'd appreciate people buying the game legitimately. Plus, it's just the right thing to do.
This is a fantastic game! I'm having a hard time dragging myself away from it. It's a shame that Ubisoft insists on such invasive and limiting DRM. This stuff only punishes honest people who purchase the game legally. Anyone can download a free torrent client, go to a game torrent website, and have the game on their PC in a few short hours. Not to mention the fact that if one does download the game illegally he or she will not have to deal with the DRM at all! Whereas the honest folks who shell out sixty dollars for this game occasionally can't even play it because Ubi consistently takes this ludicrous stance on DRM. We as consumers need to start standing up for ourselves and demand that these companies stop these invasive and unjust practices.
Sorry, I didn't mean to climb up so high onto my soapbox. :)
This is a great game and everyone should play it. Afterwards they should e-mail Ubisoft and tell them how stupid their DRM policies are.
I'd almost always rather see a dev team focus on the SP part of the game rather than tacking on a useless MP mode that I'll never play. This is good news in my mind.
Great review Kevin! I really enjoy how you focus on the positive aspects of the game before you start to tear it up a bit. A lot of reviewers do the opposite and I feel like this leaves a strange impression. I also love your verbiage. It's creative and lively. I enjoy the fact that you focus on what's important, rather than simply giving a plot outline or deconstructions of the gameplay, graphics, controls, mechanics, etc. Too many reviews do this and I feel that these aspects of a game, while important, aren't what make a game great. Usually these aspects are competent and sometimes exemplary, but rarely are they worth mentioning unless they're either so terrible that they hamper the overall experience or they're so good that they heighten the quality of the game. You are one of the reasons why I still read GameSpot reviews and features. :)
Anna, if you read this, I don't have money but I'd love to support you and your cause in any way that I can. Please let me know if I can be of assistance in any way. I'd really love to help :)
