Castlevania got a way higher score in other sites and magazines. I do not why it got a 7.5 in Gamespot.

Ok, this is going to sound kind of weird, but try this. The same happened to my old DS, the L button stopped working and there's a way to temporarily fix it. First make sure the L button is not working with another game, just to ensure is the button, not the Zelda game. Well, in order to fix it with your hands form a seal around the L button and blow in it real hard and it should work now, lol. Eh, I know it sounds weird, but just try it and let me know.
