@Dark_Matter1337 @davet666 And yet D3 is coming to console. There goes that exclusivity out the window.

@Imperiacommando Well acording to info so far there is no backwards compatibility for wheels on X1.

I currently play a lot of FM4 and GT5 and prefer FM4 to be honest. The physics feel a tiny bit better. But I have to get a new wheel for X1 and FM? I am out! As it seems that the PS4 will be compatible with most good wheels out there.

Games such as these are just meh with controller. With lackluster wheel support it falls completely flat. At least to me.

@TrueGB Yes there is. Exactly the same as you just mentioned for the PS2/3. The Xbox 360 uses a PowerPC processor and if the rumors are true the 720 uses an x86 based processor. So in theory it could be backwards compatible with the original Xbox, but not 360.

@jonmar Agree! It's nice to see gamespot highlight wheels. Next up an article on sim racing and racing leagues would be awesome.

@Jawehawk-DK You could also use a Fanatec Wheel stand. Slightly cheaper and works really well. Easier to store aswell.

But I fully agree. Table clamps seem to work so so at best, eventhough the T500 is supposed to have a really good one (Fanatec wheel have real shitty table clamps).

@quinnd6 Isn't the madcatz basically the old Microsoft Racing wheel? It did have force feedback. I have one I no longer use (replaced by Fanatec GT2). It was OK for the price I guess.

I'm really happy with my Fanatec Porsche GT2 racing wheel. Love the multi platform aspect. If I was buying a wheel today I would definetly go for the CSR elite. The Clubsport wheel doens't have Xbox 360 support =(

If you have the money go for the Clubsport pedals. You have to go really really high end if you want better. They are so much better than anything else you can get in the price range.

Well I live in Gothenburg and if I remember correctly Simbin used to be based around here (as did DICE before moving to Stockholm).

Anyways. Is it possible that they are going for a "thid time is the charm" thing and hading out the development of a possible Need for Speed Shift 3 to this new studio. Basically trying to snatch up some of that Simbin expertise in terms of making proper sim racing games to compete with Forza and Gran Turismo. Created in the mostly swedish developed Frostbite 2 engine.

I loved the original X-Com game. Me and my brother used to play it together as kids working out the strategy each turn, planning bases, agreeing on what to do next in terms of scientists. We loved the game.

Once we finnished the orignal UFO: Enemy Uknonwn we tried Terror from the deep, which we also loved but never managed to finnish.

Later on I did play Interceptor and finnished it. It was an easy and short game. Didn't even last 2 days and I never got back to it.

Never really got stuck with Apocalypse though. By then I guess I had switched to Heroes 3 for my turn based kick. Or was it Heroes 2. Oh and I had also gotten med a 3dfx card so games like Unreal and later Half Life started to drawing our attention.

Now I am getting older. 32. It's time for slower games again. I find Civ 5 great, Heroes 6 is OK and I am so looking forward to the new X-Com.

Way to go Firaxis for bringing this title!
