@miketheratguy: My thoughts exactly. I'd rather just go back to battlefront 2. Hell, even on a PSP, a HANDHELD, more was accomplished, with alternating between space and planet combat. I just do not get it. No creative effort is put into triple A shooter anymore.
I'm loving this seemingly resurgence of retro-style, story and character driven video games, others being Undertale and Dropsy. Putting heart into games, rather than mindless looting and killing. I like playing Halo multiplayer as much as the next guy, but sometimes you just need to unwind and really reflect on life.
Favorite beginning to a game would have to be NIER. Such brilliant foreshadowing to a twist that rivals the Sixth Sense imo. Maybe even better. The gameplay is rather tedious, but it makes sense once you play through the game to the end.
I actually really like the idea of this game for a post apocalyptic setting. Instead of seeing what it would be like for humans, what about the outcome for animals and bugs? I think it's pretty interesting.
Nier was an amazing game. The story and characters were fantastic. It was a perfect mix of humor and emotion. Gameplay wasn't the best but still added unique touches. The spells were cool though, instead of the normal fire, ice, and electric attacks. I loved it though, and wish I had a ps2 to try out drakenguard. I'm planning to get a ps3 though, so drakenguard 3 may be my chance.
I don't want it to come to that though, except for story driven games like Heavy Rain. A shooter, however, would be too much, at least for me. Playing battlefield 3 for not even an hour has given me headaches. Okay, maybe it was late and I was tired, but still, how much can our eyes and brain really handle?
They were only the fourth in the series, and yet call of duty continues to sell a lot. I don't think it has as much to do with milking as it does with being prequels.
Judgment feels like a step down. I've just played the overrun demo, and while it's lots of fun, compared to horde 2.0, it just doesnt feel like it has progressed. Horde still feels like a bigger mode, i dont know. While gears 3 put all it's effort into an epic horde mode and large scale battle scenes, such as a monster fish, I just dont see where Judgment is putting all its effort in, it just looks like a step down.
Of course, I havent actually played the full game, but the score suggests nothing big and new is added. The only thing I can think of is the randomly generated enemies, but still, that doesn't seem enough. Unfortunatley, I feel the reason for this emptiness and lack of innovation is due to upcoming DLC. Kinda sad, but oh well.
