Well yeah, I'm new here, and I have encountered a recent - yet I feel new - issue with my 360 involving the RRoD.

I just got the ring earlier, and, of course, the 360 shut down, with an ominous red glow emanating from 75% of the circle around the power button. I looked at the power brick, and the light was yellow.

Then I pressed the power button, and it turned on. And ran the game.

I was skeptical about running it after getting the RRoD, so I turned it off. As soon as I did, it gave me a solid ring. It was 3 lights, but it wasn't flashing.

Any ideas? I think it may just be an overheating, rather than literally melting the soldering points.

I'm not sure if others have this, and I haven't read through all this thread's posts, so I dunno what people will say. I'm going to restrict access to it for a few days, then turn it on then. I haven't found anything about it, just people having issues with the RRoD and the console not turning on. Not getting the RRoD and the console *appearing* to work fine.
