@gameexpert33 For a game I'm supposed be playing for the next 10 years, it's unlikely it will last 10 days. I've played all the missions and strikes. No way I'm going to continue playing them dozens of times over to get the gear for raids.
Maybe if the Crucible PvP had something more than the tired old deathmatch and domination...the same boring crap we've been playing since Quake...it would be worth the grind. But it doesn't and it isn't.
@Skat137321 I wouldn't expect the endgame to be repeating the same limited number of generic, linear rail shooter missions dozens of times over to level up. I would expect new areas to explore, new npc's to meet and talk to and new adventures. That's what MMORPG's do.
Destiny doesn't even do linear rail shooters very well. There is absolutely zero mission variety. Their are no big vehicle battles. No dofights in space. No piling your buddies or npcs in some cool vehicle to battle the enemy. No surprises at all over the horizon,
It's only go to the waypoint...shoot some enemies...have Dinklebot open or scan something...shoot some bullet sponge boss and it's re-spawning minions.
@k2theherm @Whiskey3romeo @Clam0 @expeditopaz2008 There is no exploring. Patrols take place on the same linear maps as the missions. The silly patrol tasks are just mini missions with the same boring tasks you do in the planet story missions.
Destiny is nothing more than the most generic of rail shooters with an RPG element that forces you to do the same limited amount of generic, rail shooter missions over and over and dozens of times over.
Bungie should feel thankful any reviewer gives this game more than a 6.
@Clam0 @Whiskey3romeo @expeditopaz2008 What other RPG's force you to play the same generic, linear, rail shooter missions over and over and over and over again to level up? There are no worlds to explore. No interesting NPC's to meet and dish out side quests.
Only go to waypoint...shoot bad guys...have Dinklebot open/scan something...shoot more bad guys. Every single mission and strike is exactly the same.
Even PvP offers little more than deathmatch and domination. How wildly innovative.
Multiplayer is particularly disappointing. It's no less forgettable than the dozens of games you've traded in after finishing the single player campaign.
Although it's difficult to argue with the games shortcomings as critiqued, I don't see how it gets a lower score than CoD Ghosts or Battlefailed 4, 2 dreadfully awful games.
Only 10 minute time limit for Chain Link? I want to take Dices time limits and shove them up their behinds so far their grandchildren are born wearing Rolexes.
@themc_7 @AzureBonds76 I'm still encountering the 20 minute time limit on Obliteration. I'm still encountering no servers with mixed vanilla and DLC maps in rotation. I'm still encountering few, if any, rented servers with anything other than the standard fare that the EA/ Dice servers offer and I'm about to encounter yet another lackluster, uninspired DLC that features more buildings and CoD style combat instead of combined arms armored and aerial warfare that Battlefield is supposed to be.
