@neowarrior793 All the quantity in the world doesn't make up for a lack creative quality. Sure, Destiny is smooth, polished and technically very sound, but the mission structure and even PvP is very bland and generic. I could live with Destiny's dull and repetitive story mode if PvP had something more to offer than the same tired old death match and domination we've been playing for the better part of 2 decades.

@RobNyack @Whiskey3romeo Yes...I've been spoiled by playing games that don't suck and am entitled to continue to do so.

Destiny does not deliver.

@RobNyack This lame and generic excuse for a AAA title isn't even a solid 6.

Here's how much effort Bungie is putting into Destiny: New weekend "Combined Arms" playlist in the Crucible which boasts a focus on vehicle play and "far more heavy weapon ammo drops" has neither. All it is the 2 whole maps featuring Destiny's 2 whole vehicles over and over. Heavy weapon ammo doesn't drop any more than usual.

Bungie has simply pulled a fly by night, take the money and run job with Destiny.

@noah364 @aja26 Destiny wouldn't make a pimple on any of Halo's behinds and the multiplayer offers way less than anything we played 10 years ago.

@JRLennis This game will be forgotten in 1 or 2 years tops...just like that Star Wars MMO.

This time GameSpot gets it right over IGN. Maybe if the Crucible PvP wasn't as bland and generic as the rest of the game it would deserve something higher than a 7. As is, the same old Deatmatch and Domination we've been playing since Quake and Unreal Tournament doesn't come anywhere close to lifting this game out of mediocrity. It certainly doesn't come anywhere near the multiplayer experience offered by the other top MP shooters, especially the standard setting a Halo...a standard set by Bungie many years ago and a standard they've failed so miserably to achieve with Destiny as a whole.

@motopramaus I've played it for about the same amount of time Kevin has. I'd give it no more than a 6. And saying games like WoW and GW2 are the same, that's just drivel. Most RPGs offer tons of content, tons of new lands to explore.

Destiny offers nothing but the same mission structure over and over and over again. Go here, shoot stuff, have Dinklebot perform some task, shoot more stuff. No big vehicle battles, no dogfights in space, no piling your buddies or npcs into some warthog or tank like thing, no surprises over the next hill. Just more of the same.

@motopramaus No, a 6/10 is for a "fair" game, a and that's exactly what Destiny. Although nice to look at and technically very sound, It's a bland and generic linear rail shooter. The MMORPG aspects of Destiny are a sham. There are no worlds to explore, no interesting npcs to meet, talk to and do quests for, NO ROLE TO PLAY.

Even PvP offers little more than the same uninspired death match and domination we've been playing for the better part of 2 decades.

Leveling up consists entirely of repeating the same bland and generic missions dozens of times over. You can see everything Destiny has to offer in less than 20 hours.

@xolivierx @mark_unix Destiny should be right up their alley...fast action and no depth. Even the crucible offers only the rudimentary deathmatch and domination. Quake and Unreal Tournament offered a more robust PvP experience decades ago.

@sauigoodman If you watched their pre-review roundtable discussion on Destiny, they said pretty much the same stuff Kevin said.
