@hellangel_boy "huge profits" aren't mentioned anywhere in the article. He specifically said "there's no way [Crysis 2] came anywhere close to recouping its dev costs." Which means 0 profits, and Crytek lost money on it. Which reeks of complete BS.
I still can't understand the disrespectful attitude of those who call games Software. Really? Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and Grand Theft Auto are all the same thing?
Oh screw you. The Movies isn't that bad. I've never beaten it though. It's one of those sandboxy games you start over repeatedly without ever finishing.
The 'twists and turns' described by Valve are referring to their inability to count to 3. They want to make the next Halflife, but explaining their every attempt at counting to 3 would certainly drive me crazy.
@Benifited http://www.gamespot.com/counter-strike-source/videos/escape-from-mount-stupid-counter-strike-6369353/ There you go. Just so you know how the find the link in the future, there's a link to Counter-Strike: Source in the "related game" section in the right. Go there, and in the "videos" section is a link to this episode with the Gamespot video player with links to download. This is how it works with all Escape from Mount Stupid videos.
@lance_7 You claimed what I said "wasn't true at all". Which means I was wrong about there being any other industry that has creators making money off used merch sales. One thing you pointed out earlier actually was a good idea, though. You mentioned that car manufacturers have dealership that buy back used cars. This is a great comparison. And I agree that if game developers want the money from used game sales they should set up a market to compete against Gamespot for used game sales the way car manufacturers set up dealerships that compete for used car sales. There shouldn't be a double standard.
