That's the problem with this site's odd approach to rating numbers. Rounding up a few points looks good for the game and for the site, but it's not possible now to give what could potentially more accurate number.

After completing it, and playing online a few times, I don't think it's THE best game around, but I think I understand why the 10s came about. It has to be remembered firstly that 10 DOES NOT equal perfection. No scale with such a small range could ever encompass perfection. But I do remember that amongst the people that didn't like the previous GTA's, the cartoony over the top feel is what these people complained about, they considered the games "mindless". And given that "realism" is currently the In thing, the change in direction is quite noticable to people who played the others a lot. It is quite different to Vice City and SA, this game, when you get past the initial similarities. And it seems that lots of people actually preferred the "mindless" violence and freedom over this more narrative driven, realistic approach.

Even though the type of story they are going for meant they needed the main story missions to go a certain way, I don't think it would have been too much to stick in some more variety in the side missions. Personally, I loved the remote control cars and planes and helicopters from SA. :D And for the love of Christ, remove the bike chase missions if you are going to use more realistic driving!

The controls seem like they are changing things just for the sake of having something different, rather than sticking with a more familiar control scheme. The setting and the background and stuff, the whole Norse mythology mixed with a sci-fi element is interesting. But there's no point if playing it is going to be frantic stick pushing, you'd be as well playing a Wii game. :D

Playing through Unreal Tournament 3 splitscreen with my sister. Play splitscreen with brother and/or sister on Doom, Halo 3, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2, Perfect Dark Zero, and a couple of others. And playing Halo 3 against my bro and sister tends to be MUCH more enjoyable than playing randoms online. Shooters in particular should NEVER get rid of this feature, it's astonishing that it happens. Arguably the 2 top console shooters, Goldeneye and the Halo franchise, have this splitscreen feature to thank for a huge chunk of their success as far as I'm concerned.

The exact order of 5 would depend on what comes out when. I have pre-ordered Fable 2, Gears 2, Brothers in Arms and Fallout 3 all together.

The 360 controller. The feel is the best for my personal tastes, can't use a mouse any more for shooters, it feels weird. :D Plus, actually pulling the trigger is more satisfying to me than CLICK! HEADSHOT! :D

The fact that these games sell is pretty embarrassing for the entire female gender frankly. :D Just means that we, the gaming community in general, should be extra happy with those female gamers out there who want to play real games and do it well.

Kudos to you ladies.

The speed is one of the best things about it, and in the absense of mods, it's surely one of the big selling points, if not THE selling point for this game on the 360. Halo 3 would be massively improved in my opinion if it were closer in speed to this game.

Not really, because Nintendo announcing a Zelda game is like me announcing my lunch. It's not a surprise, even when it "is" a surprise. Few people ANYWHERE expected Final Fantasy on 360.

Own a few swords and knives, as a fan of weaponry, so I´d tool up the family and go hunting for supplies. Then probably go looting. :D

The splaser is just magnificent. The first time on big team battle on Sandtrap you get on the building and splaser a fully loaded Warthog charging towards your team mates is ultra satisfying. As is blasting that annoying ass chump from the other team that gets straight into the Banshee and starts spraying your guys, unaware that he is seconds from DEATH. Good times. :)
