[QUOTE="ViscaBarcaInter"] If the Wii wasn't for younger players and "Casuals" as they are called here, there would be more Gears of War or Metal Gear Solid type stuff.Spartan070
to quote Vandal, "MISCONCEPTION!!" The reason a lot of the more gritty, atmospheric games as well as the more gory games are on the more powerful systems is because those types of games tend to rely more heavily on making the gore/mood of the game as realistic as possible. Thus those types of games usually benefit from the most powerful system they can get.

Perhaps, but that seems more like a technical issue. The actual content of these games is very adult, and traditionally Nintendo hasn't done this kind of game, at least nowhere near the level that Sony and Microsoft are doing now. Apart from the respective power of the machines, the games for me is what largely determines this "kiddy" or "adult" thing. It's not a case of one being better than the other, simply that Nintendo prefer one market, and the other 2 prefer the other, and the games reflect that.

Because that's what the fans, on this site and others, as well as Nintendo's marketing have made clear? If the Wii wasn't for younger players and "Casuals" as they are called here, there would be more Gears of War or Metal Gear Solid type stuff. The "kiddy" image is appropriate for the market that Nintendo are going for with this console.

To be honest, it may be mildly disappointing if this Liberty/NYC is the ONLY setting, althought for me personally the storyline is more important than map exploration, it may be the case that there are several locations, and the next trailier may show another city and/or another character. Rockstar simply teased with this trailer as they do. :D

I personally don't understand any negative feelings at all. I do admit to being biased towards my favourite game franchise, but Rockstar are feeding small morsels of information as the release gets closer just like they have before. This trailer to me was simply about giving people a feel for at least one location in the game and showing that the graphics, the one major complaint, were indeed going to be vastly improved. There was precious little indication of story or gameplay, which will come later so they can't be judged now.

But I don't see what can really be different. The sandbox shooter system is perfect for this type of game. What else can they do? So far, there HAS been an increase in weapons and vehicles, expanding of the characters, larger variety of missions, etc, across the 3 main games. The storylines and characters, the freeroaming gameplay and the atmosphere of the games is what hooked me, and I assume a large amount of the other fans. Personally, I hope they DON'T change too much, lest they lose what makes these games so good in the first place.
