@UnbornCorpser @VenkmanPHD Well I agree with you on the oversexed nonsense.

It sickened me that when DoA 5 was announced that they were taking that crap out, but alpha players were like "Nooooo!!!11!11!!1! itz the hart of the seriezzzzz"

Pre-pubescant losers... I was so excited to see the series stand on it's merits of the fighting system instead of little boy's hormones.

However, we just feel so differantly about fighting games. I can understand the pick-up and play appeal of SF.

For me though, the fact that it has such an intense learning curve to play at a pro level is what attracts me to it. To play online you literally HAVE to practice on a regular basis. It takes serious skill and dedication to be THAT good at that game.

@UnbornCorpser @VenkmanPHD No, every once in a while there were drastic changes in the fight system. Such as the example I sighted above; Capcom Vs. SNK.

As for DoA... yeah... nothing is more disgraceful than having to actually think about your opponents next move. Trying to gauge not only the type of the attack but where it will come at you from. It involves actual skill, rather than memorizing which direction your half circle should go.

As far "fighting game" DoA is one of the most realistic options there are. Which granted, says a lot about the fighting game genre in general... The closest contender being Virtua Fighter.

Street Fighter though, is just a special move button-mash fest. The original may have been revolutionary for the early nineties, but the mechanics are incredibly outdated.

And before you talk to me about the 'popularity' of the series, let me remind you that popularity is not equivalent to quality.

I don't even know why I bother getting slightly excited about Street Fighter anymore... This looks just like the 4th one which I can't even began to describe my disappointment in.

Gone are the excellent days of Capcom Vs. SNK, and the dream of Tekken X Street Fighter (NOT Street Fighter X Tekken they are, or would have been, 2 seperate games) is long gone at this point.

Thank god for Dead or Alive, despite it's unnecessary oversexed nonsense. At least the fighting is fun and deep.

I haven't even had time to get through DEMON Souls...

I'd love to see all 3 ported in a trilogy.

This: " it's a game that makes a strong case to be owned, to be put on your digital shelf for when you've got an old friend coming by, or are hankering to revisit familiar battlegrounds."

and: "to create worlds that are epic showpieces and elaborate playgrounds, places to triumph and places to play."

These marks are what games should strive for. Not something that you want to play for 20 hours and forget about. Something that begs to be on your hard drive so that at anytime you can fire it up and have a good time and then go do something else, all while having that ability to play it for extended periods.

This is why I got this game digitally, and why I did the same with skyrim, and why I am going to do the same with GTA V.

I've been waiting for the chance to see some gameplay of this. More specifically I want to see how combat is handled.

This will make/break my purchase. If I see one turn-based battle I am DONE. (You don't take turns in a fight! that's preposterous and boring!!!!)
