Here is to hoping this means that there will be a native Windows driver for it right out of the box.

If they are trying to position against Forza and GT then they had better bring something brilliant to the table.

Between this and the new Forza game I may just have to get the Xbox One.

Why is this news? Microsoft has openly stated that backwards compatibility isn't happening due to major differences in the chipset and if they aren't going to do software emulation for the retail games why the hell would they do it for the XBLA games?

On the plus side any USB hard drive will hook up to it to expand it so it's not like they aren't giving you a legit way to boost the storage.

I don't understand how MS hasn't figured this stuff out already, this is obviously one of the things that people are worrying over they should be able to give a definitive answer on it day one, none of this "I believe so" nonsense.

All games must be installed to the hard drive? That could get....annoying, especially if the hard drive is proprietary again.

The way it is worded in the article makes it sound like Nintendo will get all of the revenue from it, with enough backlash though Nintendo may relent and at least share the revenue.

There is a lot of hate on Gearbox for their role in that, trust me, it was all over this site when Colonial Marines launched. The difference is that Gearbox isn't asking its fanbase for money at the moment, if they were you would probably see some of it spilling over again. Also Gearbox has the advantage of releasing a game relatively recently that a lot of people enjoyed playing in the form of Borderlands 2, so that has generated some amount of goodwill that still holds with consumers.

Yeah, this should be interesting, they really should have waited until they could get on Kickstarter before doing this. $1.35 million is a huge number and the approximately $150,000 they have raised on their site so far would have been a much needed boost to the Kickstarter numbers since they won't get any of the KS money if they don't hit their funding request.

In saying that though, I will be disappointed if this game doesn't get made, Eternal Darkness is probably one of my favourite games of all time and the chance to play a spiritual successor is very exciting news to me, whether I like Dyack or not. Actually, on that point, it should be noted that Dyack apparently isn't really running the business end of things at Precursor so that should prevent another X-Men Destiny from happening, assuming that Kotaku article was true anyways.
