if game retailers don't resell games, you'll be able to find them on ebay/Kijiji etc just as easily as you did before Gamestop/EB cashed in on it.

@petez34 The kind of active roll that actually can effect change of sorts. Political system, or religious system would be fun side things.

But really effecting potential change within the game would be fun. Maybe some sort of voting set up to create change (what the change would be I don't know) maybe direction of content or providing choice in general, allowing people to feel like they are contributing. User created stuff, from simple clothing skins or events or something. Making it an world that you want to go to, not just to grind out the next level, new dungeon/area, or new story bad guy or girl. I know that the new neverwinter game will allow for dungeon creation, should be interesting...

Seems like an incomplete answer... All I know is that after a time I get bored of the same old games in new pacaging (seemingly faster with each new mmo).

@petez34 I agree. I love the idea of mmos, but they severly limit what is available to do. They all allow for exploring, crafting, pvp and pve stuff. But that's really about it. Each mmo shakes it a little bit for their individual spin on the same old stuff. I'd really enjoy seeing something that allows me to more actively take a roll within the game rather than just passively playing the game.

I have seen some elements in some mmos that I wish were developed more... like FFXI's city territorial competition for example. That was a fun original idea.
