@andrewkrevics @Skrilla_XS @LukeWesty There's actually some truth to Skrilla's comment. I bought it on console and I really regret doing so. The amount of mods available for the PC version adds hours and hours of entertainment beyond the packaged in game content.
@Daian @Celsius765 Well it's been reported that there might be two versions of the 720. One will be the version we all expect and will definitely be priced higher than the wii u, and one will be a cheap version meant mainly for other media functionality. I'm just saying... there is a possibility if this report is accurate.
@4nationfury @EmphaZima @Amity6 I would like balance as well, but I believe there is a reason for this gender inequality, aside from sexism in the industry. The majority of video games today are extremely violent and feature violent, physical protagonists. The gender best suited to fill such a role is typically going to be a male, I'm sorry to say. So in order for there to be more gender equality in video games, the industry needs to grow up a little and make a wider variety of games. The change needs to happen first with the video games themselves, and then gender equality will follow once different kinds of roles open up.
@Jarek011 You legitimately wouldn't buy the game if it featured a female protagonist? If everything else was exactly what you would expect from a gears game? Also, in this hypothetical scenario, the developers chose to do this themselves and were not persuaded by any left-wing political group. Still a no-buy?
@Warlord_Irochi I think this is the case because of the nature of the content. The majority of video games are extremely violent and cast violent protagonists. There's really no place for "real strong women" (or men for that matter) in games about war. So if women would like some sort of presence in video games, they have to accept that the majority of women will be hyper violent characters, just like men.
