@ash162 And the industry will only take these risks if we show that we are willing to pay for it. And the only way we show that is by paying. But we will. Because if we didn't, then those games wouldn't have been created in the first place.

@onikay Its not just games. Try watching some kid's movie from your childhood. I saw Shrek for the first time since 2001 the other day, and suddenly that movie has far more jokes that I thought...

While I am all for maturity in videogames despite my relatively young age (no, I'm not some 12 year old seeking your adult approval) I feel that the industry may split into a few different directions, two of which I'll talk about here. One of them is the industry that we have now, full of shiny AAA shooters, RPGs and the like. Personally I am all for that because I find them to be a lot of mindless fun, specifically shooters, and that's a good thing. Turning off the realistic part of your brain an mowing down hapless grunts in Halo is distinctly cathartic and can make me calm down and forget about problems for a little bit. But on the other hand I also like more mature games, not for the gameplay, (generally speaking of course, the Witcher 2 would be an exception, as I'm not really sure where it falls in the two categories I have laid out) but for the experiences that others have. Though subject to debate as to its nature as a game, "I Get This Call Every Day" was one of the best gaming experiences I have had in a long time because it was purely experiential, and the sharing of experiences is something that humanity has been doing since it created language. It's our way of tempering the youthful need to explore with the past experiences of our elders. "Hey Thak, big sabertooth tiger in cave eat my leg. Thak, you no go to cave!" thats a rather basic example, but that is how I would define these kinds of games. So I guess that I would add a third potential future to the industry, that some games, but definitely not all, will go the route of shared real life experiences. For more on that I would highly recommend Carolyn Petit's article on text-based games using Twine. (http://www.gamespot.com/features/power-to-the-people-the-text-adventures-of-twine-6402665/) Oh, and thank you Carolyn for bringing that to my attention. It has given me the opportunity to try and create evolving, interactive narratives without out having to dampen my vision with my lamentable technical and artistic skills.

@EmeraldViper So I guess based off of that logic you would agree that people who can't spell shouldn't write? If this were a video I'd be sure to enunciate every word so I wouldn't mis-pronounce them.

@widdowson91 @PixelHunter Except for Coca Cola... they're still going very strong, and look to continue doing so when 2019 roles around.

@Jecoh @faizanhd He's not talking about hard-drive space. In the United States, maybe it is possible to download 35GB in a reasonable amount of time. But outside of the US, Western Europe, Korea, Japan Singapore and a few other places, 35GB takes an inordinate amount of time. If I clear 600KBps, its really, really good day. I'm not sure why US and Western European gamers are so angry about constant DRM because it appears (correct me if I'm wrong) that they have such good internet. If you're not in one of the aforementioned places, internet is patchy half the time, a quarter of the time, its good, and the other quarter it just isn't there. I think that's what he's talking about.

@Prometheus I really hope that you are... But I really think that you are wrong because there is already CivWorld on Facebook (don't look that up, take it from me, its horrible). Also, this is Sid Meyer, and I trust him. Also, Firaxis knows what makes Civilization Civilization, and it isn't a global interconnectedness. It might be optimized and overhauled multiplayer
