@MonkeySpot @Gezquester The difference is that cars are physical objects. Digital objects can be copied near instantly an infinite amount of times without requiring resources to create said copies.
Why should anyone pay for a digital copy of a product? Nobody used any resources or spent any time or energy copying the files since any computer can do that autonomously. I'm not paying for people to be lazy shits.
@Celsius765 @CoreFighter1918 @mikezero83 Actually, over the past year I've seen Costco selling 32 inch Plasma HDTVs for around 350 USD. And those were the regular prices.
@peteywentout They wouldn't need slaves. If they have the scientific knowledge, engineering skills, and industrial capacity to create machines that can cross the gulf of space in a timely manner, then they would have long ago had the ability to create a robotic workforce.
@BlazeODU I think it's more like they just don't give two shits about us.
I mean really, try to put yourself in their shoes. You're a highly technologically advanced being capable of interstellar transportation. What could an alien species at the level of advancement of humanity POSSIBLY offer you? No point in invading or anything, raw resources can be mined from asteroids and water can be derived from comets, energy can be drawn from the stars or the hydrogen floating about in space. The only value another species less advanced than yourself would be in it's entertainment value. That is, trolling the less advanced species. Crop circles, buzzing by the local bumpkins, scarying the military.
It's what I'd do if I could cross the stars and had nothing better to do.
@tenz01 Yeah, you certainly know more about this than I do O_o.Damn it, that's not fair to those of us born BEFORE cool artificial super genes were perfected.Well, we can always hope that we can make up for those deficiencies with cybernetics, right? Robot laser eyes look cooler than natural eyes anyway!
@tenz01 I still don't understand why a supersoldier would have to be made at the fetal stage. Can't you just inject the the gene mods into the bone marrow of an adult and let the enhancements spread from there?
@DethAngel22 Yeah, being able to reproduce and allow the CONTINUED EXISTENCE of our ENTIRE SPECIES is just a "positive social trend". Seeing as we have 7+ billions human beings on this planet right now, I don't think homosexuality is too much of a problem. At least there'll be more adoptions and potentially less crowding in metropolitan areas. So yes, homosexuality would be considered a positive social trend.
