The reason why the U.S. has so much misfortunes in the field of sex (as well as alcohol and marijuana use) is for two factors.
First: it's been equated w/ rebelllion and evil/sinfulness to an extent that it hasn't gone through in other countries such as those in Europe or Canada. This is where the media holds the most responsibility.
Second: Parents, relatives and other elders failed to teach children about these topics at a younger are, where their kids are more suspectible to heeding instructions instead in their teen years where they become more rebellious. This leaves adolescents who are taboo to this finding answers on their own, and usually resulting in influence by the media, which goes back to the first reason why sex (as well as alcohol and marijuana) are used out of context.
My personal problem w/ teen sex isn't necessarily due to the fact that they're doing it, but who they're doing it with. Particularly for girls in America, either they go for the guy who is nearly twice their age (and is possibly a child sex offender), or if they go for a guy around their age, they'll go for the poser-gangster or pothead-druggie types. If these girls were at the least sleeping with dudes that had more quality, it would bring down my concern about this heavily.
