I am currently have about 25 games that I need to finish. Some of these games I am at the halfway point and others I have barely touched, so I def have some solid gaming to do over the next few months before I buy anything else.

Duke Nukem Forever: Love that game, played it a couple times over and loved the multiplayer.

Also Call of Juarez: Got it for 30€, was a pretty good game. Online mode is also fun.

Brink, gave it a 9.0, the game is damn fun if you have some friends to play with (need to be local friends if not then lagg).

F.E.A.R. 3, 7.5 is good but pretty low, I gave it a 9.5 its my game of the year :D.

speedfog

I am a huge fan of the FEAR series. I loved the first two and have played through get with multiple times. At first I was a little turned off by the focus on co-op. I really felt like part of what made the game great was having to play through it alone. But after getting past this, I really enjoyed the game. It was one of my favorite of 2011. I didn't mentioned it in my post since it did manage to get decent to good reviews from most.

The online mode is def fun in Call of Juarez.

Nier.

Canvas_Of_Flesh

That was 2010, but I agree with you. My choice is Shadows of the Damned. It didn't score particularly poorly but it certainly didn't make a big splash.

Shadows of the Damned unfortunately didn't make a big splash, but it was an amazing game with such a great/unique sense of style. I would assume it will win many "best game no one played" awards.

Sometimes I really hate seeing developers not getting rewarded for trying something different.

The movement from 2D gaming to 3D gaming "killed the beat em up star"

I don't think its dead, but it is really rare to find a true beat em up out there, esp a full retail game.

But I guess you could argue games like Bayonetta, Devil May Cry and other 3rd person action/fighting games are pretty close to the classic beat em up genre

maybe its because i have a newer ps3 but after putting in over 100 hours with 2 different characters i only had lag once and that was because that day i put in over 12 hours straight and after i turned off my ps3 for the night the day i had no lag and i haven't had any since thenelbert_b_23

I've got a fairly new PS3 slim, so I doubt thats the reason I experience the problem personally. I have only played the game in a few hour blocks, and saved multiple times, Maybe that has something to do with it. But check out the forums for the game, a ton of people are having this problem

Electronic Arts "All your games, are belong to us!"

I completely understand a company not wanting to support a game for very long because it did not sell well commercially and they didn't make a profit at all. I honestly don't know the sales numbers on this one, but my guess is it sold mediocre at best.

However, cutting the online service for a game only a year after it is released seems pretty unacceptable in my book! I think at the very least, you've got to reward people who went out and purchased your product by at least keeping the servers up for 3 years after its release.

I choose very wisely when it comes to buying multiplayer only or any game with a strong multiplayer component because I am always afraid the servers won't last long if it doesn't sell well. I could understand if a smaller company or a company in financial trouble had to shut down the servers on a game that did not do well, but there is no excuse for a company like EA to do this.

Ok, I've said enough!

Gaming started for me on the SNES, I was just a kid throughout the 90s. I could make a huge list of games that were my favorites in the 90s but I doubt anyone wants to read through 100 games there are my favorites.

Looking back though, there a few games that just stand out over all the others, so I'll list a few.

Donkey Kong Country - In my opinion, this entire series got everything right! The sound/music stand out, as it was simply amazing, esp coming out of that time period! The graphics were unique, there was just nothing else like it at that time. The gameplay was perfect, and I do mean PERFECT. The game had an amazing sense of challenge, but never once did I get frustrated when I died multiple times. The game also reminds me of the time I spent with my cousins all taking turns trying to beat levels on a Saturday morning! To me, Donkey Kong Country was everything a platformer could be in the 90s. THANK YOUR RARE!

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past- My all time favorite Zelda game for many reasons. I'll keep it short, it simply rocked! I was in love with this game the minute I started playing it. In fact, I still find myself still going back every few years to play through the game again. The first time I beat the wizard, I figured thed game was over, and much to my surprise it really had only begun. Transported to the Dark World, I was shocked as to how big the game actually was.

Earthbound - Can you honestly think of a game that had as much personality as Earthbound. This was one of the first RPG games I have ever played and it was by far the best. The music was rare and unique, the game's sense of humor was incredible, the gameplay found a perfect balance between fun and challenging, and I was hooked right from the beginning.

Its a great game when it is running properly on the PS3, but the glitch that most people are having issues with renders the game almost unplayable after a certian point.

What is happening is once your game save file gets large (30 hours into the game or higher) the game starts slowing down. It continues to get worse and worse until its so aggrevating you won't want to play it anymore. The slowdown seems to vary among gamers, but it gets so bad for some people they can't even play the game anymore.

I would wait until it is patched out and fixed, but who knows when that will be. They releaseds a patch already, but it doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.

Sorry for the bad news, but eventually I am confident they'll get it fixed and the PS3 version will run just as smooth as the PC or 360 versions

I'm sure this would also come under the Buyer's rights or the Sales Act or some sort of other legislation. Basically the legislation says that you can't sell a faulty product (which is obviously unanimously considered to be fair) or a product that is decietful to the buyer, i.e. you cant sell an empty amplifier as an amplifier - you can sell it as an empty amplifier though - if you follow....

So, I think this is being both decietful to the PS3 consumers because Bethesda must have known about these issues OR it is selling a faulty product which is also illegal!

Bethesda should, most certainly, be punished in some way...

Pedro

Now that is overly dramatic and Bethesda is definitely not the first to release non optimal software nor would it be the last. And its very unlikely that anything can be done for software companies have been doing this for the past two decades. In fact all software are release with issues, the real problem lies in what is acceptable bugs and what bugs isn't acceptable. In the end the proof lies heavily on the consumer with regards to the game purposely being released faulty.

Bugs are very common with new releases these days and even more common with large open world games such as Skyrim. All the bugs I have encountered in games prior to skyrim, have hampered the gameplay, lead to a glitch or forced a reset. However, none of these types of bugs render the game unplayable.

This slowdown bug with large save game files renders the game unplayable once it hits. Yes you can technically start a new game making the game playable, but what is the point if you can't advance once you get to a certain point within the game?

This completely has ruined my Skyrim experience

I agree, but it would be near impossible to prove Bethesda knew it was faulty when it released. And obviously they are going to deny it outright as well.

This larger save game file freezing/slowdown renders the game unplayable at that point. It actually started for me after logging 25 hours into the game, I started noticing strange slow down. I continued to play through it but by the time I got close to 30 hours it was so bad it was virtually unplayable. I haven't played since, and I don't plan on playing until a real patch is released to fix the problem.
