[QUOTE="TheDevKit"][QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"] Of course future consoles will overshadow it, but that's in the future. We're not living in the future, are we?DragonfireXZ95

That would create quite the paradox. But as of now, PC games do not look a generation ahead of console games.

Yes they do. Let's see that Skyrim console screen shot. Durrrr.

It looks nice of course, especially in screen shots. Unfortunately Skyrim is a poorly optimized game by default, without the technical issues mods bring. Some of these screen shots are taken with frame rates rendering at 5-10 FPS. The polygon counts remain the same, when the next generation consoles release you will see a major boost in PC visuals. You can polish a turd, but it's still low poly. Edit: I'd be willing to show you the specifications of the PC I use to develop software on, I've used these types of modifications before.

Also, what do you think of this screenshot, Xboxiphone?

It's a nice looking game, but future consoles will over shadow it. As I explained before, the polygon counts on PC games are similar or identical to current console games.

[QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"] And you're playing the Deep Down tech demo/target render right now, right? Because you better be able to play it if you can claim that.

DragonfireXZ95

well the Deep Down trailer was in game real time footage, and it looked fantastically good...these Skyrim mods dont look good lol

not to mention the Deep Down trailer was running on unfinished, unfinalized PS4 dev kits, so the graphics will get EVEN better then what they showed

Proof that the Deep Down trailer was in game and real time?

It's likely that it was indeed running in real time. Considering the engine is in early development as of now, there would be many rendering issues. These types of issues were visible in the demo, leading me to believe it was real time. Regardless, it was a target render. It's more or less likely games will look similar or better then that once games become more specific and optimized for the console.

Quite the false notion actually. PC games will begin looking much nicer once console games of the next generation begin getting ported over with higher polygon counts. Skyrim on PC uses the same polygon count as the console version. Developers aren't going to re-do every mesh for the PC platform and alienate an even higher percentage of there fans. That's another reason HD remakes don't generally look "HD" as you'd expect. I've yet to see a developer create one in which they re-doing every model and re-rig every polygon. Even modders cannot do this, as this is often hard coded and implausible without a large development team. You can polish a turd, but it's still a turd.

If?

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a very highly produce, yet average game.

Wasdie
Judgement is using a near identical development engine as Gears of war 3, with some modifications. These modifications include optimization, obviously. But also some psychical oriented changes for more vertical game play. Another thing is you can visibly see the polygon count has been reduced from Gears of war 3 in order to suite more enemies on the screen and allow other game play options. It's obvious they're choosing longevity over instant visual gratification. Shame the game is getting so much hatred because it doesn't look like a massive improvement visually. Instead, as I stated above, you can see Epic is choosing game play over visual graphics.
