@bunchanumbers @TheAgingGamer True, but a lot of games are locked down so that isn't always an option. Plus official textures and models would be nice, especially because they'd be available at launch and not released piecemeal like the Skyrim mods.
Unfortunately, the main differences we'll see for our PC versions of games will be higher resolutions and post processing like FSAA. The artwork will be made to target consoles for most games, so PCs with better specs will be just like it was this generation. A multi-platform game will look better on PC because it is more crisp, but the artwork was still lacking compared to what our machines could actually handle. Look at the faces from games like Assassin's Creed or even the newest Splinter Cell. It would be nice if they made higher end artwork and scaled down the polys and textures for consoles so that PC users could fully benefit from their hardware, but it just isn't that way for most games.
Maybe someone at Rockstar just felt inspired by the in-game stock market so they buried this info in the XML, knowing it would be discovered. Their plan all along was to trigger gamer outrage so they could short sell some stock. Don't panic..there's no way Rockstar would REALLY do this to the gamers that just made them a shload of money.
"$1 Billion in 3 days? That's not enough! Let's join the other assholes in the industry and nickle and dime our customers for even more!"
I expected more from you, Rockstar. There is no justifiable reason for this. You made back the game's full budget plus a hefty profit in 3 days. Now you're just getting greedy. I'd gladly pay for more content, but paying for in-game currency that you can get by PLAYING THE GAME is ridiculous and it ruins the game balance for those who don't want to keep paying you.
@somatzu Umm..I think you've misunderstood what this is. It isn't a game streaming service. It's an operating system based on Linux that is designed to be lean enough to allow game developers to harness every last drop of power from your system's components. So yes, a cheap laptop would run games better using this OS than Windows, but if you want quality gaming you'll still need to use a decent system.
