This rumor becoming true would make this game a first day buy for me.

As it is, the only thing I'm looking forward to with Mario Galaxy 2 is for the first game to possibly finally have a drop in price.

The only people not giving a crap is the fanbase itself. They still bought their bad games and also they keep saying Sonic Team sucks and should go back to 2D. I don't like the 3D Sonics. they're way too different than what the 2D ones represent. Good riddance I say.Theguy56

The fans who bought the bad games are just as much to blame as well, I agree. After all, why should Sonic Team make an actual effort when they can clearly just dump out any old trash, slap on the hedgehog's face, and rake in the dough?

I was guilty of this myself at first. After enough disappointments, though, it came to the point where I merely rented them, just to see for myself. All except for the Black Knight, which just by reading the previews I could see that they had neglected to correct any of the game-breaking problems from Secret Rings, so I didn't even have to play the game to know it was still garbage.

Again, only sonic playable, no friends = sonic cycle broken, I've found it funny in the past too, but don't post it when its not relevant. :|110million

That same description could be used for Sonic Unleashed when it was first revieled as well. Then a little later on they announced the werehog, and the cycle continued.

Just saying...

i would like the special stages from sonic 2, the best form of special stages in all of sonic's games

Masterx1220

Wrong. The "blue sphere" special stages completely trumps all other attempts.

There is no question this is going to be the good classic Sonic we all came to fall in love with. Also they are selling it in a great way if the episodic content is thorough enough.

However it is somewhat "throwing in the towel." They literally do not have the talent to make a good 3d Sonic game, its not that "it is impossible to make a good 3dSonic game." I think this is a good path to go but it is much easier to make a 2d Sonic game. I wish they would hire another developer forany future 3d games.

I pretty much agree with your "throwing in the towel" comment. It is very possible for them to make a good 3D Sonic game. And if they continued down the same path they started with the original Adventure games, I'm certain we've have a legitimately excellent title on our hands by now. Instead though, they've focused on adding more and more gimmicks to every new game, none of which work out in their favor at all. And the one time it looked like they were actually giving it a real go (Sonic '06), the game was clearly released far too early in production, having so many glitches, bugs, and other gameplay issues. The fact that they released it in such a condition was almost like they honestly couldn't even care less.

Had they actually gotten their act together, sat down, looked at what's worked and what hasn't, listened to what the people like, and kept a strict focus on that classic Sonic style as opposed to lame gimmicks to tack on, and then had a serious go at it, I'm absolutely positive that they could have produced a true quality 3D title. The only reason they haven't is because they're lazy, and they truly, honest to god don't give a crap.

I have to disagree with your remark about this being a great way to sell it, though. I've been dying for a return to classic Sonic gaming ever since the Genesis days. Since this is a download only game, though, and my consoles are not online, I have no means of playing this game. Unless once all of the "episodes" are released they end up packaging them all on a disc to sell at retail, then this is without question the absolute biggest disappointment in a long line of them concerning Sonic.

Shame it's download only. If all the episodes were released, I'd like a retail version of the episodes in one disc.

Cerberus_Legion

This. Considering how long I've been waiting for a release like this, I feel insulted that they're limiting those capable of playing it to people who are online with their consoles.

Just 'cause it's 2D doesn't mean it won't sell in retail. Especially if it's a big franchise title like Sonic. Just look at how well New Super Mario Bros. did. I really wish these gaming companies would get their act straight on this issue. There's absolutely no reason this shouldn't see a retail release.

It would be interesting, that is, if those of us who aren't online with our consoles were actually capable of playing it...

Until this game recieves a proper retail release, it's absolutely worthless.

Thanks for that big ol' middle finger, Sega.

They already did. It's downloadable only.

So both of these games are out now, and they both interest me. Gamespot's still yet to review the Wii game, but their review of the 360 one ain't bad, and IGN gave both games the same score, so that doesn't really help much. What I'm asking here is, if there's anyone who's happened to have played both, which would you recommend? Because I wanna get one of these games, but I can't afford (or necessarily want) both.
