One other suggestion: Keep the controller seperate from the tablet unless you are going to offer an incredible warranty on this gaming version of the tablet. Nothing would suck more than having a $400-$500 dollar video game system rendered useless by a faulty analog stick or trigger button.
If Microsoft really wants to make a big splash, give this "gaming tablet" video editing functionality and the ability to capture footage from cameras in uncompressed HD live and on location. I guarantee that this would almost assure that gamers (and there are quite a few of them) in the indie film-making scene would pick up the unit. It's hard to find a descent editing system on a budget. Video game consoles pack plenty of power for editing compressed video. I cannot even count the number of times over the past few years that I have wished that I could tap the power of my Xbox 360 for basic editing. Why not give the video game crowd something that the indie film-making crowd something that they would not only enjoy, but could use as a tool for creativity? If Microsoft were to check Youtube...they would find plenty of cross-over in the indie film/video game crowds. It seems like a no-brainer to me.
I think they should create something fresh and release new Zelda games. Did you try Skyward Sword? I thought that was a relatively fresh take on the Zelda series though there were a few issues with the game that I would have corrected.
Finally...the high definition, kick arse Zelda I have been waiting for. This makes me excited. Very excited. I will definitely be picking this up. Thank you Nintendo. Thank you.
Half life 2 is a fine example of how games should tell a story. Let the gamer experience the story first hand rather than by telling it through cutscenes. Genius. Pure genius.
I agree. I love the games from Nintendo, but honestly, I've been craving a SUPER HIGH DEF EYE POPPING ADULT ZELDA experience inspired by Ocarina of Time. Graphics are not the most important part of any game, but one thing is certain, a great game is ENHANCED with great graphics. Nintendo, turn the Wii U into a 2 or 4k capable machine. The next generation of consoles will certainly be powerful enough to make us all wonder if we will ever need another round of consoles. Make sure your offering has plenty of longevity. Invest wisely!
