It's doomed at the current price. Their respective portables are selling at more than the price of their respective consoles. This is crazy. If Sony and Nintendo publish some great games and have their units at the $150 dollar price point, they will thrive. Portable gaming isn't dead. It's just "restructuring."

The biggest issue I see is re-licensing games when an Xbox broke. I'm currently on my 4th Xbox of this generation. I was one of the first 7,000 owners of the Xbox 360 and lived through the worst of the RROD era.

Zelda for Wii U has me licking my chops. It looks tasty. Like, Texas BBQ spare ribs tasty.

If they can all manage to cut out video-game resellers, create a more attractive pricing model for new content, and efficiently deliver quality next gen systems, they will all do quite well. It is a massive industry and gamers are salivating at the lips for the next round of consoles. I myself cannot wait for Xbox 720 and Wii U. Playstation still has to sell me but a solid offering could peak my interest. Can't wait for E3. Wish I was going as an Avid/Adobe systems certified video journalist/reporter. (Sigh) Oh well...Cheers!

One last note: These companies would profit tremendously if they could sell games at lower prices and cut game resellers out of the picture. I imagine that for every copy of a blockbuster game that is sold at retail, 10-20 consumers get the same experience in the used game aftermarket.

One option would be for the companies to "work together" to streamline profits on a very capable home console. All three companies would see a tremendous benefit when working together rather than seperately. Imagine how much more money consumers would have to spend on games if they didn't have to spend over $1000 on buying all three pieces of hardware to play the best games.

I want a console and I want Avatar like graphics and deeper gameplay. Half Life 3 would also be nice. I'm already going to buy a Wii-U based solely on the Zelda demo that has been shown for it. Long live home consoles. #$%$ Onlive. Onlive sucks.

4k resolution would be nice. Not that I would use it right away, however, when it does become mainstream, I'd like to be able to enjoy it. Good 3d is also essential. Gears of War 3 delivered an excellent 3d experience!

If a console can produce Avatar-like graphics I will purchase it. I will purchase the Wii-U just to play the adult looking Zelda being made for it. Zelda fans have been looking forward to an open-world (non-linear) Zelda adventure catered to adults. Please don't let us down Nintendo.
