It is simple some people like Halo and Gears over uncharted and infamous. Which game is better is all a matter of opinion. I could give 2 craps bout which got the higher rating.
If a game recieves a score of 5/10 but I enjoy it I am going to play it. Forget metacritic and all the reviews. If you like the game play it if you are not sure rent it first but I can't stand it when people are just using the professional opinions of other people to say their game is better. I think to this day that Zelda Ocarina of time is the best game I have ever played am I going to say it is the best ever? NO cause it is only my opinion even though it is considered one of the best of all time.
@TomMcShea @horizonwriter You have a point there. There is just so much in the game. I would love to hear more of your guys views on the situation with the fireflies and the military. Also I have to ask Tom you guys have discussed so much bout Ellie being the cure. Yet you fail to mention that right in the beginning after the prologue the news talks bout how all these different vaccines failed. So let's say Ellie dies and still no cure what then? Just wondering.
@TheGamerPhenom @malymac I personally could give two shits lol. I do like the semi-resemblence to the ps2 though I miss that system. My nephew still plays the one I was playing on 10 years ago lol.
@Joeguy00 @91210user Right if it comes to a point where all we buy is digital and second hand purchases are pointless then I can see something like what MS is doing. The problem now is as you say we should have our choice MS is saying "screw you the future is now" it's a shame they showed some good games and will be showing more but I can't stand businesses who think they are big hot shots and can do anything and we will follow. Sony has the right view but MS is just being stupid right now.
@Samslayer @BelaidKL They market it to another audience all they want. Still for me I will admit I was wrong bout MS and they did show some impressive games. Still I want to own my things when I pay $500 dollars and will be paying more when you add in membership fees and all of that. Sony is allowing ups to buy a ps4 for $100 less and while it doesn't do as much as xbox one I can do most of of what xbox one does with a computer and cable box. I play games a lot so if I can't rent or buy used or sell by the time I can afford one of these I will just get a ps4 and the "Leaving it up to publishers" may be not bad but will they enforce their policy who knows.
@heguain It's not about the age of the reviewer everyone has different taste when it comes to games. My big brother got me into games growing up and I played games he told me but as I got older I enjoyed games that he said sucked. I listen to a reviewer to get an idea of the game and what I am looking to buy not everyone say "oh this got a 5 it sucks so I can't play it" The one playing the game should decide what they like and what they don't.
Just like on this site and others some agree with Tom's review others don't reviews are for reference not to make you decide what you like. So don't use the "Older and more experienced what we say is good or bad is good or bad aproach" It is stupid.
@Infinite_Access Agreed I have grown up playing final fantasy but if all of them would have played the same I would stop playing them. I love the older ones and if I want to use that battle system I will download it off psn and play it. They will not go back to the 90s battle system unless it's somekind of remake for one of those games. XII was good and while I did not enjoy XIII and XIII-2 as much as the others they were still good in my opinion just not the best. I like what I see outta XV just wish it was still Versus XIII coming out on ps3. Still when I get a ps4 I will get XV.
You know I am sick of Microsoft talking to us like idiots. We know you have more content to show and as much as I do miss Halo and was impressed by Titanfall I will not buy an xbox one. I don't care how many games you bring I don't care how good they are. I will not pay $500 for a system that has so many restrictions that I feel like I am renting it from you. It's not the content for me its the policies and all my friends agree. I don't pay $60 for a game to be told what I can do with it and whether or not I can let a friend borrow it. I by some miracle MS changes things and stops these restrictions I will reconsider but right not I say "Screw YOU Microsoft. Heck I might even go buy a wii U.
