@skippert: I never said that at all, man. I was talking about the gaming industry and the ratings (perfect scores) it gives to all Mario games. I never mentioned anything about the sales or why it'll sell.
Its just, to me, the gaming industry looks at Mario like the staple of the boom in this industry, and for that they are too soft and easily excited for any new main entry.
I could elaborate further, but I doubt that's necessary.
@skippert: "And here you are believing that all of them went down to the thriftshop in search of a old N64 and Mario 64 or even worse dowloaded a emulator for it.."
What are you even talking about? Are you okay? Where is this even coming from? lmao
Feel free to explain where the contradiction is. The first idiot failed to explain, even when I asked, and you guys following in his footsteps aren't offering any examples either, just regurgitating nonsense.
@coldsilfur4: I specifically said I haven't played it so I can't judge this game and that if you enjoy it, more power to you. Are you going to cry? You going to be alright?
I'm sorry, I'm just tired of the entire gaming industry sucking off Mario at every single release. It's one of the biggest, most well known names in gaming, but all these titles get perfect scores and eventually when I play them, I'm bored after the first little bit. I guess I just don't get it. Just seems it gets high scores for its name, not for actually being a masterpiece.
This score was so predictable. Although I haven't played it yet, and most likely never will since I won't buy a Switch. So I can't comment on this game specifically. But if you enjoy it, have at it. To me, Mario 64 was the holy grail, but after that it fell off hard when comparing to other titles. It feels like too many people are blinded by nostalgia. Stuck in the past.
**** you EA! I wanted a new Dead Space on current Gen so badly but you fucking losers just have to turn everything into something that'll give you the most profit, and you shut down everything else! Can't just do something for the fans if it's a smaller player base eh? Can't put time into a strictly single player experience since you can't stuff microtransactions down our throats at the cost of the quality of the game.
Really enjoyed the beta. Felt like a massive improvement over the first one, which I thought sucked.
That being said, as much as I enjoyed it, I'm not buying into this progression system of pay-to-win loot boxes.
Have loot boxes with cosmetic shit, even skins for guns, I don't care. But ones that make you superior to other players? That's too much for me to tolerate and I won't support that.
A shame too since I was so happy they said they'd release all expansions for free. But they went about it the wrong way.
Maybe down the line I'll pick it up used at a discount but I'm not holding my breath.
If you haven't seen it yet, Angry Joe has a very good breakdown of how much you'll have to play in order to unlock everything. It's just ridiculous.
