I'll be honest, I was extremely skeptical and uninterested in VR until a few models and upgrades happened. But I got it as a gift early this year, and I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I had expected.
I'd never recommend someone on the fence to drop the money for it, but I'd definitely say you should check it out to see for yourself. It was a lot better than what I thought.
@gregrout: I'm very well versed with all this microtransaction nonsense, which prevented me from buying... But what do you mean a 15 hour cooldown? I must have missed that info.
@mike468: Dude, you clearly have no clue what you're talking about. Speaking on behalf of Halo 5 and Overwatch, those are not Pay 2 Win games. The loot crates offer cosmetic appearances which do not alter the core game in any way. That's even mentioned in this article.
As for Hearthstone, while I have not personally played it and don't understand exactly what you can buy, I do know that the is at least Free 2 Play.
This is a full blown, full price game that is offering loot boxes as the ONLY way to achieve progression in this game. There is NOTHING else. You either play an inhuman amount of time, or you pay hundreds of dollars to get progression, skills, upgrades, weapons, etc.
This is absolutely pay 2 win and its disgusting. I am sorely disappointed. I really enjoyed the beta and was very interested in picking this up. But even if they actually made a solid game that's fun to play this time around (Battlefront 1 was utter garbage), I still cannot encourage their decisions in the future by supporting this. This is unacceptable.
