@dacontag: What they said was, "when we looked at what needs to be done to support online co-op". That means they could of just scrapped that and kept local play in which would of made the most sense anyway.
Having the campaign and an offline multiplayer for split-screen would of be better than nothing.
@nibbin1191: I remember the mission that we had to spy on a truck that was in an airport full of brainless zombies that couldn't even see 10 feet in front of them. Then inside that truck were the super soldiers.
There weren't many but they could definitely be classified as zombies.
So I can see where people are coming from on this whole "it's too slow or buggy to play" thing as this has now entered console territory and frame-rate is dependent on the quality of optimization on that side. But to the PC having access to Alpha staged games even before paying for them has been a thing for years, poor optimization is a standard to be expected.
Ark: Survival Evolved though, kind of finds it's way into a grey area where they know they have a huge following with no shortage of feedback. So the way they're going about finishing the game is smart. Because it will get done faster rather than optimizing everything now, which would essentially double the work needed to get it done.
Unfortunately what this means is the console and old PC's get the short end of the stick, large amounts of the game won't be running smoothly until they're finished implementing new things.
Now comparing this to another MMO survival game, Like "7 days to die" where they've been in Alpha stage since 2013 because they've been optimizing after every new feature.
Granted that game is really shaping up into something amazing, they went this route of development because the fan base is lacking compared to others like Rust, H1Z1 or The Forest even. Which can sometimes be the factor that makes or breaks it.
Basically what I'm try to saying is that every game has a development cycle that works well for them, most are similar but Ark: Survival Evolved is an exception because they're doing something that hasn't been done before i.e:, "The first console MMO FPS crafting survival game with split-screen co-op".
@InYourMouf: That's probably the way to go anyway. Frame-rate won't be their priority until they've implemented all the features and systems they want. Optimizing is redundant because once a new system is put in place it needs to be optimized again.
@skyke101: I agree to go from very hard to survival mode it possesses very little change and just seems like an after thought. It would of been better if they just increased the damage they do instead of the amount they take.
@jj2112: Magic In Skyrim wasn't very strong in the higher levels, the only way to make it stronger is with gear or exploiting masks. Stealth is the real cheese mode combine that with archery and Illusion, your unstoppable.
That didn't stop me from leveling up destruction and enjoying it while it lasted though it's just one of the skills that's fun to use but terrible end game.
