why show respect if your playing for fun maybe if your on gamebattles thats different but games were not made to be serious.

IMO if you don't show respect for people's differing abilities then you aren't playing for fun at all. No-one likes a poor loser and no-one likes an ungracious winner! Rubbing someone's nose in it when they have just lost is not good fun, and is not very sporting.

I suppose, as many of these posts reflect, the only way to answer the original question is to define why you bought the console. I bought a PS3, in part, because of brand reliability. I know my system will not break multiple times and that it will not be disregarded by Sony once the PS4 comes around. Even if the PSN wasn't free, and there were no exclusive games, I would be inclined to buy a Sony console because I know it would work. That is the reason I buy consoles, so I could play games on it. Of course playing games is hard to do with shoddy craftsmanship and no chance of an afterlife for the console.

Also, I guess you could answer the question by defining "losing." Microsoft recently announced that they would outsell the PS3 overall. If Microsoft continues it current business practices there is no way that this will come to fruition. Each week the PS3 outsells the 360 worldwide, and so common sense tells us that when the Xbox720 comes out and MS drops the 360 the PS3 will easily outsell the dead console. And this scenario is based on the small possibility that the PS3 has not actually outsold, worldwide, the 360 by the release of the 720. Clearly Microsoft has its own particular definition of "winning" and "losing" that is not based on popular perceptions. As should be clearly evident you have to clarify your terms so that your question can be properly answered. There is too much inherent ambiguity in the term "losing" and in the end your discussion will break down because of the lack of clear parameters.

However, not to be needlessly coy, I will answer your question based on my own definitions of winning and losing, that I have partly expounded on here: I did not buy a "losing" console.
