@Metallicwolf29 Technically the game is great, the criticism for the game emanates on its design... so it was not rushed, probably just not very well designed.

@nephili232 Man, I can understand your rant, but the review is still valid and...

1. The game being fun has nothing to do with the review, some games that have a 6, 5 or even worse are incredibly fun, The review is referent to the quality of the game, not its fun factor.

2. The criticism actually makes a lot of sense, a game like Destiny, with incredible competent mechanics can become repetitive in either one of two ways, one it will become repetitive because of the action and two, because of the environments and the mission design. Now Destiny not only lacks variety in its missions and shootouts (which could be avoided by a wider range of enemies and introducing a wider array of gameplay elements and mechanics) but it also has very bland environments, they aren't really varied nor they seem particularly interesting. Despite this I agree with you, shooters often get away with small and bland campaigns, which is a shame, still if Destiny has a bland campaign, isn't cutting it slack just perpetuating the problem?

On the Rpg part I can't help but disagree, the Witcher series for example has an incredible story, great and expansive lore and very little grinding, if Destiny wants to be part rpg, it has to draw away some elements from the best games in the genre, not just Skyrim (which I think is a bit overrated) or run of the mill MMO's.

And that statement about Destiny offering the best of the genres, that is where you don't make a lot of sense. Is Destiny the best shooter? No, it is a great one, especially since the shooting is awesome, still the lack of diversity (environment and mission/gamepllay wise) puts a dent on his greatness. Is Destiny the best Rpg? The lore seems great, but other than that it really has nothing on most rpg's, since character development is quite small and the rpg elements incredibly thin (lack of variety in character classes, for example). Is Destiny a great MMO? that we will see as it is still early to tell, but as it seems now, its content just runs too thin...

3. That excuse of "the reviewer hates the game I like because people generally like it" is not really believable when you have games like GTA V that are massive sales sucesses and critical hits. So the review is a hipster excuse is not really valid in this or any other instance.

4. The "Pc master race", even if this game is not what everybody expected it to be would want, as any reasonable gamer, for the game to be in its platform of choice. More options are always better.

@ExtremePhobia Kevin said the video review is coming, albeit with some delay because of the recent layoffs at GS, read below for the comment :)

@simsumre @Sir_Claude @krayziestryker Because it helps in the illusion of a living breathing place and it doesn't harm the fluidity of the game as a loading screen does.

@Jacanuk @simsumre @soensoe Actually Take Two = 2k + R*, and they are pretty good for the most part, especially the R* side!

@krayziestryker Well in terms of base games the stakes were a bit high, 1 and 3 were revolutionary but 2 was very good aswell, the problem was that they should have kept some of the improvements from 3, the open world, cars, pools, toddlers and carrers to start with, because in terms of pure gameplay there were some great steps taken to improve the experience, the problem was that there just isn't enough content there... it's incredibly barebones, even for a base game...

@simsumre @soensoe Indeed, I still remember when EA used to risk a lot with new IP's and used to give a lot of creative freedom to studios like Bioware and Maxis ... those were the days.

@Anigmar @Sir_Claude @Kevin-V @SipahSalar Shaun is still here, in fact he and Kevin are the only two editorial writers remaining I think... the rest are either freelancers or have other jobs at GS. Shame that Gamespot has come to this!
