The franchises that started or got famous with it, and some single amazing games too:

Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Crash Bandicoot, Soul Reaver, Chrono Cross, Oddworld, Medievil, Tomb Raider, Vagrant Story, ISS Pro, Fifa, Parappa the Rapper, Bust-A-Groove, Street Fighter Alpha, Rival Schools, Parasite Eve, Legend of Mana, Dragon Quest, Ace Combat, Tenchu, Bushido Blade, Tekken, Dino Crisis, Rayman, Spyro, Twisted Metal, Ridge Racer, WipEout, Syphon Filter,...etc.

And I'm sure I missed many more...that's how special and wonderful the PS1 was for me and for many.

The ideal is to go back to making RE look like Resident Evil: Code Veronica(the last great RE in my opinion). They did it with RE4 before revamping the whole game to make it look like it did.

It was a stab to RE fans' backs.

Code Veronica is VERY dated in the gameplay department. I agree it might be the last great one, but they are not going to go back to that style of gameplay.

I am not getting RE6, but to me it seems like the "interuptions" in gameplay with cutscenes and QTE's just keep getting worse and worse with each iteration starting with RE4. With RE4 it didn't hurt the game much, but to me the QTE's were slightly annoying even back then. Now it just seems like the QTE's are taking over. I don't know about how RE6 is paced, but the way the reviewer makes it sound it's like 1 minute of gameplay, then 2 minute cutscene, then 1 minute where you are forced to "walk" in a linear path, then another cutscene, etc. I can't stand that crap. If they are going to do cuscenes it needs to be paced better. I.e. 20 minutes of gameplay, and then maybe 2 minute cutscene with QTE. However I would rather they just did away with cutscenes entirely, and perhaps went back to making an "open" style Resident Evil where the focus is all on the gameplay itself.

If it's so dated how come the HD remakes are selling so well?

[QUOTE="bb2945"]

does anybody else live in canada? I just moved here, and now it looks like I can't get Fifa 13 until October 20 on gamestop.ca. I thought I could get it 9/25, but I don't know because I live in canada.

bb2945

Best Buy says September 25th.

Amazon says October 2nd.

Frankly I would trust Amazon more than gamestop or best buy.

why is that different sites have different release dates? are those errors on the sites that will be fixed when I place the pre-order, or should I just shop around here, and see if Fifa shows up at Walmart or futureshop?

No they are just guessing based on last year until a statement is made by the company that made the game. Unfortunately the video game industry in general is still run by many amateurs(especially in gamestop and best buy)
