[QUOTE="SenorGuapo"]I think it should be legal in the US, i live in amsterdam and its legal here in my country I dont see any problems, i smoked a lot myself. Now i dont touch it I do think that in a country as big as the us, there should be many teaching on marijuana. Cuz it does make u slack around if u smoke a lot. Or maybe thats because the weed here is made stronger i dunno. I do know I kinda messed up high school because of disinterest. Im not saying that will be the case with everyone, but weed does cause ur braincells to "sleep" while being high, so yeah, learning and smoking dont go hand in hand. And the whole being "cool" thing that the us has about smoking weed, will blow away. Here it's not even cool if u smoke weed, im 21 and i dont see many people of my age do it. Snoop Dogg stayed here a while bragging on smoking blunts the size of a metre. hehe dont brag dog, its normal :Pmrbojangles25
its actually not cool to do it here, either. I remember in high school most of the "cool" crowd didnt smoke weed, and a lot of the people that did really were not popular. They werent losers or anything, mind you. In the US, there are generally 3 states of mind when it comes to weed:
1. The people that dont smoke and frown upon it. These are people that likely have not smoked simply because its illegal and they were told its a bad thing and a gateway drug. These people are severely misinformed.
2. The people that dont smoke, but dont care if others smoke nor if its legalized. I fall into this category. While Ive smoked pot since I was 14 and up until about three years ago, I dont smoke it now. I think something happens when you reach a certain age, and you just dont want to anymore...a lot of people my age feel this way. Idunno, maybe its real life kicking in. With that said, I have fond memories and zero negative side effects so I see no reason why I or my government should deprive people the joy of marijuana.
3. The smokers/potheads/stoners. These are current marijuana consumers. They consume weed because they like to, and they want it legalized so they can consume freely. Nothing wrong with that, though I have seen many friends and people smoke themselves stupid.
And I agree, dont brag about it. I mean, we need our figureheads (Snoop) and all but at least put it in a postive light.
Marijuana is a good recreational and medicinal drug. I see no wrong with someone putting in a long, 10-hour day at the end of the week, coming home to his girlfriend, and smoking a few bongloads while snuggling up on the couch and watching a Pixar movie. That sounds like one really nice evening and a good way to end the week/start the weekend. Likewise, I see no worries with using it as medicine. When I played football (american) I used it to help out whatever aches and pains I might be going through, and it worked wonderfully.
Some very solid points there. I agree with everything you just posted. Those three types are pretty much the majority of Americans regarding marijuana. It's sad that those who do not smoke it are unable to mind their business. Some people in this day and age have nothing better to do than restrict what others find joy in, that is far more pathetic than any pothead.
