@Niotnake I agree with you that good taste is constantly changing but what exactly is good taste? Is it a specific way of doing things that everyone can find agreeable?
I don't think it's that simple. I'm sure a lot of people may find this torso offensive for any personal reason but to say that this collective item (and the publicity it intended to create) is universally bad taste then they should obviously hold the same opinion on horror movies in which there are numerous scenes of gore, murder and torture like the Saw films. Otherwise, leave the horror collectible fans alone.
I also believe such a person should also find a game like Call of Duty offensive. Because how can these journalist condemn this kind of marketing without strikiking down the GTA series? That seems very hypocritical in my ears. Because I certainly think it's rare, if ever, that GameSpot has condemned a game all the way through in a headline article.
My point being, if this piece is obviously as shocking and distasteful to you as it is, what do you think of grandma' lashing out on GTA for corrupting our youth with shocking shootings and drug trade? Oh, right. You actually enjoy this particular medium, or so I imagine seeing as we are on GameSpot, and so this particular kind of violence is all good. UNLESS of course you actually believe gaming = real life shootings in which case I can only say good day!

@devus1 You and I share the same humor. Even if you didn't mean to, this comment is pretty funny because it really breaks down how unnessesary the controversy on this 'piece' is. Unnessesary might be the wrong word. Controversy is how legends are born!
@i_noseworthy @RedLegZeff @edjos Exactly, i_noseworthy. I'm not hailing this item for its artistic merits. I merely believe it to be a collective horror item. How anyone can see it any other way boggles my mind.. hurts my head thinking about it.
@tinglep Fairly sums up my thoughts on the matter. I believe human art should, and is, going to continue to expand like always. And there will always be a scapegoat of times. Come a new era of lifesize Warhammer zombie figures in wax models and we will have a new thing to complain about.
