@hatieshorrer @ScottlinDLR @wyan_ The first thing I would like to point out to you was that I said not counting the exclusives so you don't need to point that out because that's the only thing I can really debate between having a console or another console.

In terms of your first point I have to disagree. PC's now have grown to where you could actually build a decent PC for almost as low as 400 dollars if you know where to look for parts online and you research them and do the work. It took me about a month to figure out parts and to catch them on sale in order to buy them. On top of that consoles may be cheaper, but if you look at things in the long run, games can be very low depending on where you buy them. You have Steam, gog.com, green man gaming, and the humble bundle all selling games on sales that mark down games at most 75 percent, thus saving money on games in the long run. You could say that yeah but what if you want to sell back your digital games? well when you sell them back to Gamestop or another company, they don't give you much back when you trade them in, thus you end up spending more money in the long run, especially on a 60 dollar retail game where I've seen them give back at most 25 dollars which in a way is ripping off gamers.

In terms of Windows having a Monopoly on PC. Theoretically yes they do have control over Direct X which is intrigal to PC development. However, the PC is by far the most open platform in terms of game development, allowing for more varieties of different things to come about. For example you have independent games having more creative freedom on a PC. Uncut AO games can be distributed through a store that belongs to the developers so you don't need the hassle of having to go through a console company that dictates their own rules of you can and can't put out there. PC has the AO rated versions of Fahrenheit (gog.com) and Manhunt 2 (rockstarwarehouse.com). You will never see these versions ever pop up on a console because consoles have to pander to the market and what is socially acceptable. So in all honesty even though Microsoft has some control in terms of the PC market because of Direct X, it's still technically a more free console. On top of that there is also the beautiful process that is emulation, where if one console company refuses to sell their games on PC, you can emulate them as a way to tell them to **** off.

@Morokoo @silvergol @Loshead Ah but the difference between RARE and Nintendo is that Nintendo would have the power to act as a 3rd party independent publisher from Microsoft and have control over their games, while Microsoft actually owns RARE as a first party company, which is why RARE isn't the same anymore because Microsoft took them in a bad direction. So theoretically it would be on Nintendo's decisions to go in the direction they are going instead of going through the decision making of another.

@hatieshorrer @wyan_ What about the PC the forgotten console in this debate? the true definition of a something that takes a lot to break down and has the ability to withstand a lot of games with intense graphical hardware and where online is completely free? I'm sorry, but with the exception of exclusives I truly do not understand this argument over the whole console wars idea when the PC can do everything consoles can and more. Not trying to troll or anything, I'm just confused as to why I should care about this debate between console hardware when the PC has been a console that's lived for years and technically isn't outdated because you can build upon it.

@H0rizon @lildozer74 Yeah but unlike most companies they stopped doing those old practices and apologized to everyone for their old practices.

@Vambran @BuBsay The problem with that argument though is that it only looks at the short term of the sales of the company. First of all CD Projekt Red had outright said in an interview with Gamespot a year ago that the securom retail version was pirated more than gog.com version. http://www.gamespot.com/news/witcher-2-dev-will-never-use-any-drm-6365165

So based on this alone they would be stupid to make that decision again because it would inhibit their sales on retail PC copies. Second if you look at things in the long term, if you speak out against injustices like this and actually apply a non DRM approach to a game, you will be respected in the long term which in my opinion is more important for a company than short term sales. This is the case with how pirates work. From my experiences, the majority of people who pirate tend to be individuals who either want non DRM copies of games, want to try a game before they buy it, or they want to acquire things that are not being sold in America due to either copyright reasons or through lack of distribution. Now to put more emphasis on that, A representative of CD Projekt Red in another interview said that when the company went in to investigate the piracy issue, they found that when one person asked a pirating forum about pirating the Witcher for the sake of just not paying for it, almost everyone on the forum had told him to go buy the game instead of pirating it because they believed that CD Projekt Red deserved the money and didn't want it to be pirated for that particular reason.

http://www.gamespot.com/cyberpunk-2077/videos/cyberpunk-game-piracy-and-next-gen-hardware-6381322/

So to think that the pirates would cost CD Projekt RED a ridiculous amount of money is absurd to me, because pirates aren't one dimensional like how everyone else describes them. Piracy is more complex than you think it is. CD Projekt RED is going out of their way to combat piracy by treating customers in a respectable manner, as a result they will appeal to the hardcore section of gamers who are very selective when it comes to their decisions of buying games. This is the audience you want to appeal to because they are the people who will spread your company and promote the sales of future games, thus helping the company in the long term.

All I have to say about this is that I hated every hangover movie and didn't find them funny. And I'm in my early 20's. I don't care if Volition makes the game in this weird tone, just put the amount of content you had in 2 and more.

I honestly wish they would just release the original games and the rest of the bethesda catalogue on gog.com. I think they would earn so much money from the id and elder scrolls catalogue alone.
