I still think FROM's games present enough of a unique blend of gameplay elements, some of which are borrowed and some of which are completely new (regardless of whether you can track them back to some 80s influence) to be regarded as their own RPG, a JRPG.

I dunno, if you look at the fromsoft games and all the games coming out now being described as "soulslike". I'd say that while the traditional JRPG has fallen by the wayside, the Japanese have spawned a new RPG subgenre.

The japanese work hard and long hours, most people don't even have the space for a PC in their homes.

This is why consoles are dying and PC will never be popular until their culture and society changes.

Totally wrong.

For one Japanese people still have high PC ownership, just not gaming PCs.

I agree its a cultural thing and I also agree that the Japanese PC market won't be growing significantly anytime soon, it has nothing to do with what you've said.

The Koreans on average work even longer hours than the Japanese now (google it) and yet PC gaming is the reigning king. The same point applies to China also.

Its just a unique and mostly isolated gaming culture that likes to compartmentalize their things, they see the PC as a work machine and hand helds or consoles as entertainment machines.

15 years ago, Japan MMORPG is very hot on PC in East Asia, especially MMORPG makes big bucks without piracy. But you have to live in East Asia to know that. 15 years ago that is.

My friend < - originally was born in Japan. My stepfather would whole heartily agree with me if he was alive today. Countries like Korea are not Japan, this country has an MMO epidemic with children going into special MMO help camps.

You will have to look up to see if there is a bullshit help camp.....and book yourself in.

and find actual friends

Actually he isn't too far from the truth.

The truth is PC gaming is huge in China and Korea but a wasteland in Japan. There are special limitations on how many hours kids can play MMO games in China and Korea.

There IS a chinese internet addiction camp.

So hes not too far from the truth.

I think the factions are far more varied and interesting in Rome TW. I found the recruitment system simpler in Rome TW, all in all i thought Rome was a fresher and better game. But that being said, M2 looks gorgeous.
