Yeah, for the games quality, you definitely cannot beat the price. I gotta pick that one up.

[QUOTE="EternalStutter"]

[QUOTE="Saedius_Asicion"] Goldeneye was an amazing game. I spent countless hours playing split screen with my friends on the N64.outworld222

but have you gone back and pl;ayed it now? it just isnt as fun anymore. our generatuion has gotten spoiled by new FPS.

my vote would be assassins creed as well. what an experience

Quoted for truth. Goldeneye is a legendary game that just cannot be played today.

This cannot be said enough times. So many late nights with my friends golden gunning each other to death... such fond memories.

Awesome customization?

Saints Row series. Specially, Saints Row The Third!

Forza series if you're into racing games.

insane_metalist

I have actually been looking for a good racing game, might have to snag me a copy of Forza 4, Saints Row The Third is now on my list as well.

Forza 2 & 4 are the best ones! Must have for sure! I'm personally, a big GTA fanatic but I enjoyed Saints Row The Third a lot more then GTA IV.

Lots of love for saints row, i need it!

and forza 4 does look absolutely amazing, little concerned about just driving in circles, essentially. like a more cityscape type track, sounded like the oones that were like that in the forza series were takenout of forza 4. Not that that is a killer for me, just a concern.

[QUOTE="GhostSniper117"]

Is Far Cry 3 (360) worth my time and money ($60). Nobody i know has played it yet, and id like to know if its as good as ive heard?

IC3_C0LD_ZERO

Not worth $60. Wait for a price drop. It has a pretty decent single player, which has some truly outstanding moments and it's core gameplay mechanics are flawless (while not innovating) but all the side missions are fetch quests that are being repeated over and over. The island is generic and the story ain't a big deal, the protagonist is unlikable and the multiplayer (both co op and competitive) is garbage. It took me 15 hours to finish it and I did most of the side stuff. It's a great game, just not worth the full price imho. There are a lot better games you can spend your $60 on

VERY good to know. Almost paid full price for it yesterday at a gamestop, but i decided to fill ou tmy library a bit more and picked up 3 used games instead.

LOOKING FOR a couple racing games for 360. First thing im looking for is something like street racing, midnight club 3 comes to mind, awesome customization, awesome busy city-style tracks, in-game radio, that sorta thing. Forza 4 looked good but it sorta seemed like just racing on tracks... tad boring.

ALSO, is there anything similar to a good mario kart game on 360?

3 games actually.

1st and foremost FFVII, i'm not a huge fanboi like some, but i do really like the game and story, but it was my first REAL experience with gaming, until this i played things like Mario, crash bandicoot, sonic the hedgehog and whatnot, nothing with a really engaging story. spent the summer at my uncles house and literally watched him play through the entire game. 2yrs later i bought the greatest hits version and spent a hundred hours doind EVERYTHING in that game.

2nd World of Warcraft the first year that game was just so badass. i spent almost every waking hour on my pc grinding through ranks in warsong gulch with a group of strangers who became close friends. 6 1/2 years later the game lost all of its charm, i knew everything inside and out, had been both a hardcore and casual raider, a casual and hardcore pvper and the member of the coolest guild on the face of the planet, whose name over the years ranged from "Panty Raiders", "Reported", "Meat Vendor", "The Cucumber Prophecy", and ofc a monty python reference "Bring Out Your Dead". Miss my guild, but not the game.

3rd Skyrim haven't been engaged in a game like this (225hrs at last count) since WoW. I actually got almost every achievment, which is awesome for me, since i havent done that in any game yet.

As far as WWE goes, i hear it has an awesome character creation tool... hmmm

Fable series, well, i played and beat Fable 2 in one afternoon for the first time ever, it was fun, but sort of like the Witcher 2 i was ready for it to be over. I read so much about that game before i played it, the creator had this whole vision of getting you attached to the dog in the game, as if it was really going to be your best friend, and then it seemed to be one of the least important aspects of the game. Let me down, he did. Let me down big time.

But still, appreciate the recs guys :D

This thread will probably be moved/locked.

Apocalypse324

Can i ask why? i don't "do" forums very often (or at all), so i'm unfamiliar with the ettiquette. i'm guessing because my post wasn't strictly 360? But that is definitely where my focus is, maybe i'll just edit it.

Also thanks for the suggestions, i do think ni no kuni looks good, judging by Kevins review, and DS is a gimme if i go that route... but again 360 is where i want to focus, so i'll have to look into TW2.

Yep thats pretty much why, not really supposed to talk about other systems on console specific threads...and theres also game recommendation threads, but this one seems to still be ok so thats good. Saw others mentioned Dragons Dogma, dont know how I forgot about that but yes its a great game as well

Yeah... i was at work, with SLOW as hell interwebs, and i could barely load up Gamespot, much less search through the forums, though i did notice a game recommendation area just a minute ago when i logged in from home. Thanks for the recs anyways all, and thank whoever hasn't closed my misplaced thread yet!

As for The Witcher 2, personally not my cup of tea. I had decent fun with it... but by the time i had actually beaten it, i was ready for it to be over and done with. The ONLY game i have ever bought from, and them returned to a Gamestop (although it was a good 13$ towards Mass Effect 3!!). Not sure what it was, combat wasn't bad, story wasn't horrible... just not for me i guess.

Seems like a very divided issue so far...

My take: I have a very love/hate relationship with them. I think intros and endings are best when done with cutscenes. When done right, they can build suspense, as in the case of an intro, or resolution as with an ending scene. Blizzard has been referenced a couple of times, and that is fitting because they do an amazing job with their CGI. I have never once thought that they specifically should tone it down. However, when you look at something like Final Fantasy XIII, i think you can see the difference for yourself. Cutscene after cutscene after cutscene interspersed with minimal gameplay... frankly, it gets annoying.

As for storytelling, it is simple to do via gameplay. How did games like the original Final Fantasy or the original Metal Gear (NES) tell a story without them? There was very limited use of cutscenes, if any, in early games like these, so why are they praised like they are for having such good stories? Because they were able to do so without the cutscenes and CGI that modern games flaunt like excess cleavage.

Much like cleavage, it can be tastefully done, but when it crosses a certain line, you are just a slut. :cool:
