@William Blade what i don't get is why whould they pirate? softmod your wii, import the game, play the legit (imported) obtained copy, why is there a need to pirate it... it is beyond me...

@GrumpyMcNasty @Pockets69 the only way to know if they are region locked is to run them through ABGX, thats a tool that check its region among other things, what says in a box is not valid.

@MJ22see agreed, but i would say the situation is amost the same, still not region free.

@GrumpyMcNasty because while microsoft imposed region locking they had diferent levels of it, it was rarelly a game that was locked to one regions, most games were ntsc/pal or ntsc/asia /NtscUS or even region free, yes some games although very little ones were not region locked.
