So they are introducing a microtransaction system but are giving us some of the currency to sample it initially then some more over time?

I am perfectly ok with that, as it is only cosmetic anyway

@xTheTrueSeekerx: if you are sick of pouring money into it, then just stop doing it.

@VegasDawg @PETERAKO have you read the recent article on "the division"? the whole article is basically paraphrasing the articles we got for destiny before launch.

stuff like:

"The Division is aiming to offer "endless gameplay,"

"Ubisoft's goal with The Division, which he also stresses is very much an RPG, is to keep gamers playing "for a long time."

"We don't want to do a story that ends"

"In addition to standard story progression (and new content after you finish), The Division features progression systems for gear, player statistics, and your base of operation, which can be continually upgraded, Cortes said. Ubisoft will also support The Division with new content following its release, adding more hours to the main experience."

"We're hoping for endless gameplay," Cortes said. "On top of that, we'll support the game heavily post-launch, though we won't go into details yet."

the only difference I found is that you upgrade your base of operation (a.k.a. the tower?)

Does it sound similar to you?
All we can do is hope that this turns out in line with our expectations rather than in line with destiny's model

@pspearman @Peter_Desert I have it on the setting above average (I forget what its called). I noticed the rubberbanding when I went from the second to third town. The game suggested some offroad championship so I got a crap car for it (since I spent all my money messing with my other cars) and went on the road trip. At that point I noticed that with my crap car, if I was behind the grid could achieve better acceleration than the car up front and when I was racing around them, I would manage about the same straight line acceleration. the odd thing is that between a jeep wrangler, an older evo and the Bowler, they should have very different straight line acceleration.
If I lower the AI difficulty I also tend to pull a large gap btw.

so....the game is wonderful, your only complaint is that you find barriers once in a while and that the narrator is a bit annoying then give it an 8? I've seen reviews point out several actual issues with a game and give it 8 or 9. what gives?
Also, I am positive that this reviewer spent very little time with the game itself, given that he hasn't figured out that the AI can be quite challenging if you set it so. I accept the score, 8 is a good score anyway, but it bugs me a bit that he didn't talk about the one actual issue with the game: the rubberbanding is blatantly obvious, something I never expected from a Forza game (for the sake of being transparent, I did not own horizon 1 so this last observation might've been self inflicted)

@angryguy77 @evil_snuggles so you say it will basically load a bit faster, huh?

still doesnt add actual performance to the console like their marketing would lead you to believe

@anomaly3001 it means that all other features the box has will be available on the ps4.

and yes, cloud computing is bull in this case.
cloud computing is great for stuff like research, where data can be sent to the cloud, then a whole bunch of servers and processing units can do the hard work and send the processed data back to the local hardware. it really works wonders for R&D work.

However for gaming, where latency levels are paramount, cloud computing is worthless. it could, theoretically help with some things that are not happening on screen, such as economic data for items and so on but it honestly would not make any difference for the end user other than the market for items would be more realistically responsive and integrated into the single player.

to top it all, since microsoft reverted their policies and the box will not be connected to the internet at all times, the box will not benefit of this kind of tech anymore and its instead up to the dev to add such features to a game, which can also be done on the PS4. but no dev is crazy enough to add a game changing feature that will not be present in all games because some people won't be connected.

my circle of friends consists of tech savvy people and a bunch of engineers, some of which are computer and network engineers. I might not know everything about it, but they do.

@anomaly3001 @Peter_Desert thats fair enough, choice is always a valid point.

all I ask is: please make a more informed post, as the PS4 offers everything the XONE does except skype and those sports apps(NFL i think?) that is only valid for the US.(also twitch.tv is superior to the service used on the PS4)

also, please dont let yourself be fooled with the "power of cloud computing" BS. it doesn't work

@anomaly3001 @Peter_Desert so far, the better features are: twitch.tv, and thats it.
the TV stuff is bogus, afterall it only makes you control it through the xbox instead of using your set-top box's remote. skype is nice, but i game on a 36 inch tv and if when I skype my game screen gets smaller, F that!

also, it all comes at the cost of performance, such as ram usage and processor overhead
